Bundesliga - best in the world

I'm definitely going to make at least one trip to a Bundesliga game next season. I could go and watch Dortmund for €15 or go and pay ?ú55 for zero leg room at Loftus Road.

Does anyone here follow a particular German team, by the way? Mine's FC K?Âln, because I can relate to the characteristic underachievement.;)
Mine should be Eintracht Frankfurt, as it's the closest big team to where my mum was born - and she also used to work in the City. Great set of fans

I dont know if anyone mentioned it,but the amazing thing about german clubs is that most of them dont have any debt.

Chelsea-Abramovich money
Real and Barca - Each about 600 million € debt
Bayern - healthy,debt free business

Tottenham's Dutch star reveals demands on fitness

By Gerrit van Leeuwen. Last Updated: April 17, 2012 6:15pm

Rafael van der Vaart believes the Premier League is the toughest division in the world, admitting it is hard to maintain his fitness throughout the season.

The Holland international is a good judge given he has played in four of Europe's top leagues, beginning his career with Dutch side Ajax before moving to Germany to play for Hamburg in 2005.

He then enjoyed a two-year spell with Spanish giants Real Madrid before moving to White Hart lane in the summer of 2010.

The 29-year-old believes the Premier League is physically the toughest he has played in and thinks that may have played a part in the struggles of English clubs in Europe this season.

With Euro 2012 on the horizon this summer, Van der Vaart also admits he faces a battle to stay fit for the tournament given the physical demands placed on him in England.

"The English league is by far the toughest in the world," he said.

"I can judge that personally. The Premier League is stronger than Spain.

Tough

"At the away game at Stoke I thought about walking off the pitch after 25 minutes."
Rafael van der Vaart Quotes of the week

"In Spain, Barcelona and Real Madrid could have a tough match when they visit the teams at the bottom of the table. But that's because every Spanish club has a couple of good individual players.

"In England all the away games are difficult due to the pace, power and working spirit from the first minute until the last.

"At the away game at Stoke I thought about walking off the pitch after 25 minutes.

"They didn't do anything but bashing, tackling and using the long ball. Totally not my style, but they are getting results with it.

"In Europe the Spanish and not the English clubs are ruling. But for me that just confirms what I said.

"The intensity in England is so big; they ask a lot of you."

Van der Vaart also feels the Premier League could benefit from a winter break, mirroring other leagues across Europe.

He added: "In England you cannot do without a winter break, a small break to charge your batteries. But will that ever happen?

"At the moment I am only just fully fit again."

Why so?

If I'm honest he doesn't seem to be sure where he's meant to be playing most of the time, nevermind trying to organise other players. Think he could make a terrific coach one day though.

Gallas seems like the readymade manager, but that may be because he often stands around in suits with Les and Tim looking important...

Mourinho never kicked a ball.

He is very knowledgeable, intelligent and knows the game so well. Hugely experienced player too. He knows other leagues, has probably built some great contacts, obviously knows how the game should be played and probably has his feet firmly on the ground after what he and his wife went though, he wouldnt take anything for granted. He already has a love for the club and a great relationship with the fans, and for crying out loud he is handsome as fudge.

I do not know why but i have grown to really dislike ferdinand.

I am for ANY idea that means Sylvie stays around The Lane. By the way, anyone see Louise in her bikini the other day?

I think I need a lie down....

Where do you think we'd place if we did enter a WAG league, out of curiosity? If we still had Crouchie, Abbey could be our star forward, with Sylvie in behind....

Jesus...:eek::ross:

Fcuk off!! Just fcuk off!!!

I think we're top 3, if not first in the WAG league. Defoe brings it down a little bit every now and then with his choices, the cad.

What does Mourinho not playing football have to do with it?

Fair enough if you think there's a good manager in VDV, I can't see it but am more than happy to have him (and his wife) at the club as a player.

Well you said VDV doesnt know where he is meant to be playing nevermind trying to organise other players, this obviously has to mean on the park, so VDV will know more about that than Mourinho ever will.

lol. That is a great concept - let's not forget Lennon's sister is quite fit as well!

I'm not delibaretly trying to be pedantic or anything here but I'm still unsure of what you mean.

VDV plays football - Terrific player with great technique and a beautifal face but often doesn't stick to his position which can lead to areas of the pitch being congested, which may show a lack of tactical nous when it comes to formations and player organization

Mourinho doesn't play football - Has won a few trophies in his time due to understanding formations and tactics

How does VDV know more about anything in a managerial sense? I don't understand.
