Brennan Johnson

Johnson's body language and hesitancy suggests the abuse he gets from the fans is affecting his game. You might argue he should rise above that but not too many can. Must be hard to give your all when all you get is abuse.

Would not be surprised if he decides he wants out of Spurs. No doubt that would please many on here.

But it might be in his best interest to move on. Reckon he could be a different player at a club where the fans gets behind him. Rashford seems to have a new lease of life at Villa.

Let’s see how rashford fares over a longer time but I get your logic
I just don’t get why a guy who has been doing what most consider the hardest thing is the whipping boy for many
In fact I don’t get why we have to have one full stop
There is a gig 2 rows behind me. I was told he is a teacher. He is a proper clam. He literally spends all game slagging the gig off. I can’t remember the game but he was be bemoaning Johnson not tracking back (this guys miss 30s with a tramp beard so not Baleforce) and when the team dealt with it, countered and Johnson scored he didn’t celebrate. He carried on bemoaning the earlier lack of tracking even though it clearly was and isn’t part of the plan
Weird fudger who clearly comes to spurs to compensate for his bricky life
And before Brennan this guys pet hate was Kulu and before him winks
Just stands there and mains constantly

That guy is one of the main reasons people don't go to games; these loudmouths are a cancer that suck the joy out of the ground and make others quiet.
You should either pass him a teacher's note explaining that Johnson is either tracking back or staying high and wide due to the manager's instructions, or set fire to his beard.

Noticed that after Johnson had scored against Ipswich he hardly celebrated. Someone in th crowd behind the goal must have goaded him because he gestured dismissively towards the stand. Was probably an Ipswich fan but either way its rare to see a player react like that after scoring. They usually couldn't give a fudge what opposing fans think, just celebrate all the more.

His father played for ipswich. He probably supported them growing up.

People have an element of free speech in this country but damn man, I wish people would think of where they are before opening their mouths
This guy isn’t unique other than his beard
Reminds me of cat weasel
My GHod son came with us once and was sat there.. he said does he come here to watch or to complain. That’s an 11 year olds observation of this chap

Definitely a talent there, team just needs to be set up to counteract what he's not good at.
This is the other aspect

But again being a system manager it doesn't seem like something that Ange is particularly adept at.

Many of us have called for him to set up the team in a way that maximizes the player profiles. If I see my right back constantly beaten I'm gonna ask why my right winger isn't helping out. If people are excusing Johnson for not getting back then by extension you have to make allowances for Porro getting beaten cause no full back is coping 1v1 while backtracking.

Or maybe why is the right back not very good at defending one on one
That’s maybe the sacrifice they have chosen to make

His final output is really good, but there's no doubt he needs to further develop many aspects of his game, primarily attacking with the ball, and his defending. His attacking runs without the ball is first class, but he needs to add more to his game.

So you're requesting an absolutely world class RB to both have the attacking qualities of Porro and the defensive abilities of an Emerson. That player doesn't really exist and if they were we aren't going to be able to sign them.

Perhaps he could mark @Bedfordspurs spelling?...that should keep him quiet for a while.

No
I’m saying players have weaknesses and we have to accept that. That’s football
Porro has other strengths which we utilise

Tend to agree that he has to add more to his game, he is only 23 so he has time to do that. I do not believe that he has it all but i do not think he is as bad as some of our fans say he is.

When I see Garnacho play I think he looks like a real danger man, very talented, fast, a real threat... commentary just said he hasn't scored for 19 games, since facing Bodo Glimt.
So MAYBE scoring goals from wide is actually quite a skill to achieve.
Just maybe.

I did have another thought about this, and it might be giving Ange credit which is baseless.

Maybe he's revolutionizing football and Johnson is playing at a striker but from the right wing, so he's got no really defensive duties and is there to finish of moves. Solanke shouldn't therefore be thought of a conventional forward, it's a feature of the tactic that we don't really create for him and his primary role is to close down and win ball back.

Sounds mad, but so are a lot of things about the way we set up.

I've had a similar thought tbf

Like pool used to do with mane, Firmino and Salah

Hopefully he’ll be finishing as sublimely as Mbuemo soon.
