Bombs go off at Boston Marathon Finish Line. . .

Having lived in Istanbul for two years, I can concur with Papercut's comments. Majority have dark features but definitely a larger proportion of blonde the further north you get in the country.

I'm sure they do. I've worked in Istanbul for 9 years or so, well Harringay, and I've never seen a blond Turk other than with highlights lol. I'm sure they do exist somewhere though as you say.

Lets hope the **** gets killed in jail in the most horrific manner for what he's done. It's the likes of him this world don't need.

Just like to point out that he's still a suspect, and is completely innocent until proven guilty. Please don't forget that, it's what separates us from those we condemn as barbarians and terrorists.

This lynching by the media, the government and the Boston PD's twitter account ('terror has been stopped. We have triumphed. He is in custody', etcetera.) worries me. I understand people's anger and desire for revenge, but is this really what our Western legal systems have become?

Agree 100%.
The kid might have just been following his older brother around and got in over his head.

I never understand people's stupidity when it comes to following what the media portrays to them. But then I guess it's much easier to turn the blinkers on and be told how to react to situations.

Theyve got the right guy. He's guilty.

That is surely for a jury and a judge to decide, not you, me, the media, the police or the government. Again, this lad is completely innocent in the law's eyes until he is tried in a court.

Whether we follow that law, or judge him guilty and subconsciously condemn him before he ever sets foot in a dock, largely determines whether or not we are any better than the terrorists and dictators we claim to oppose.

You need to get your news somewhere, and questioning everything eventually becomes counter-productive. But to some extent, I agree: our logical and thought processes have been worn down since the dawn of the 21st century, which I'm constantly angry about. Whether it was done on purpose or by accident is what I'd like to find out.

Hi mate, not a tough time for me at all?! Apologies if I'm making out I'm some sort of victim in this!

It's a bit hard to describe in words. Kind of flattish face, more pointed nose than usual. It's more of a generic visual recognition, if that makes sense? Turns out they're not Iranian now, so I was wrong!

Glad to hear that...

...disagree on the 'Iranian features' though I will admit I can certainly spot others with Iranian blood!!!! I have often been told I look like a combo of Jaz Coleman (Killing Joke) and Alexei Sayle!!!:eek:

Spare a thought, indeed, for the lad who was accused a day or so ago who'd already been missing for a month...his family dragged through it...yes, there's been an alarming pace to the media frenzy here...

Sadly mate, I suspect you already know. It's easier when things are, err, easier. Convenience, whether it be food, entertainment or information, is increasingly the driver. Time demands it. People must have 'it' now. And those in charge know...

It's why I work from home, make less than I could and further make sure I get out with the dog for long walks very very often...could be the start of a massive convo I don't doubt, but probably not for here (or now!!!)...

With respect, you believe what you want to believe and ill do the same.
