Splendor, Ticket to Ride and Carcassonne do well for two players.
Pandemic’s good at 2 players, if you don’t mind co-ops (I.e. both players vs the game, rather than player vs player). Or Lost Cities is you want something more simple, or Spirit Island if you want something more complex.
