Best home-grown XI of your lifetime

Roland Beurre

Ilie Dumitrescu
I've always thought it odd that for a club that prides itself on attacking football, arguably two of our best five home-grown players have been centre-backs.

Anyhoo, this idea is a direct copy of Gutter Boy's Best XI of your lifetime thread, only restricted to home-grown players, which makes it a lot harder or, for those without access to the internet, impossible!

GKs are a nightmare unless I have missed someone obvious. Barry Daines? Tony Parkes? (I have missed someone obvious: step forward, with a rueful smile, Ian Walker)

FBs, we have a lorra, lorra decent Irishmen. Joe Kinnear, Stephen Carr and Chris Hughton. As for Englishmen, Tony Want, Ray Evans and ... er ... Kyle Walker-Peters

CBs: Ledley and that other fella, obviously, but neither were a patch on Phil Beal. If agricultural is more your speed, there's always Paul Miller.

CM: Perryman, Souness (although he only played one game for Spurs), GHod, Pratt, Hazard, Brooke, Vinnie Sideways, Howells, Clemence, Mason, Winks, Bentaleg, Skipp.

Wide forwards: Neighbour, Townsend

FW: Chris Jones, Falco, Kane, Barmby, Crouch, Armstrong.

FWIW, my best five home-grown players (of my lifetime) are Kane, Hoddle, King, Campbell, Barmby.

Interesting concept.

Des Walker was part of the Spurs academy. So were the Norwich boys - Polston, Culverhouse, Bowen and Crook.

Can't remember Beckham and Redknapp connections but thought they were something to with Spurs academy.

I guess Madueke is the most recent name.

Kerry Dixon? Did I dream that one or was he with us for a bit?
