It’s such a HUGE subject in America at the minute. I read up abit more last night and watched news snippets on YouTube and there was one interesting view that got me.

They said that if you listed what can be done to start repaying the treatment of the indigenous renaming sports teams would be the last thing of importance. It’s actually a “what next” moment, so you have renamed the Washington Redskins, what next? Is that all you are going to do? Not repay the millions/billions of pounds in lost land and revenues that the indigenous would have lost from stealing their land? Re address the balance on what was lost? Nope we will just get the Indians to remove the term from their name.

I would say in the fight to recognise the atrocities that native Americans suffered the efforts should be directed on a lot more vital actions

You might like the podcast This Land. It culminated with a recent supreme court ruling which didn't get much airplay because of Trumps tax return decision. I liked it.
 
I enjoy baseball too, not watched for years but did when it was on Channel 5 all those years ago. You can really sink into a game.

I use to watch it when on holiday in Florida, first remember when Oakland were a good team, but in recent years its Atlanta on TV everyday. Went and saw a AAA game in Orlando and there was a great team fight. The players are huge, are steroids allowed in the game?

Well its interesting as I saw an interview the other day with A-Rod who was caught using and he said he will never be inducted in the hall of fame, so they use but when caught they are shamed. There is a current ban with one of the games poster boys Tatis Jnr who is now banned.

The old Oakland team of Giambi and Canceco were so of the worse for that....MLB's steroid era ground zero was Oakland A's clubhouse (globalsportmatters.com) Decent read on it
