Way too soon for him. He'd need to put in that level of performance over a decent period of time to have a chance. Midfield is the one area that England are stacked in.

I’m very much on board with not really caring if our players miss out on World Cup squads this year. I know it might be disappointing for them, but we need so much work doing this summer let’s just have as many of them as possible for bedding in with a new manager.
We don’t even know what league we’re in yet. The thought of trying to hit the ground running with potentially numerous players only having been back a couple of weeks is awful.

usually I'm pro world cup and international experience for our players but given the brickshow that is FIFA and USA at the moment would rather they all avoided the circus that will be this year's 'competition'.
