I’ve said it all along: he must stay. The bloke knows how to win. He’s shown a completely different side of his football. We’ve got the trophy monkey of our back. Now we have the perfect platform to build for a few years.

We'll lose the first 2 games and have Mason for 36.

If he can swallow his pride and park the bus like this occasionally in domestic games too then Postecolgou is welcome to see out his 3rd year.

It's not just parking the bus, just a little more pragmatism in games. Calm down on the inverted FBs, 2-0 control the game and stop the gung-ho brick. But yeah, if he's learned his lesson and is willing to take some of his approach in Europe to the PL...

I'm surprised we managed that many passes. What a horrible game - Bill Nich will be spinning somewhere. But we parked the bus and got it done. Somehow.

That there was nothing swashbuckling, or even coherent, about that performance, is the most damning thing about it.

Fair play, Ange. You have balls of steel. I can't fault you as a man. But as a manager, I can only hope that you and Levy can agree a mutual severance of some sort. Walk away with your head held high. Mate.

Wonder what Mourinho must be thinking watching this, considering he got sacked on the eve of a final despite being the generational master at winning cups by parking the bus.

Guess it’s all about keeping the dressing room onside in this era of player power and hopefully Postecoglou can start next season as well as his first so this PL campaign becomes an irrelevancy as we begin a new glorious era of winning silverware regularly again.

I think you need to consider that his options last night to win the trophy were hampered by an out of form sonny (who looked off the pace and unfit when he came on - Tel would have been the less emotional choice) who was returning from an injury, and the loss of our three most creative midfielders in Madders, Kulu and Bergvall. Looking at who was fit and the task at hand, he did what was needed to get a trophy. That's pragmatism l, which ironically is what most of the Ange out phalanx have been screaming for all season.

If you're a dyed in the wool "Ange out" man, then there's nothing I can say that will change how you feel. But if we were to finish 10-12 and win the champions league next season how would you feel?

You are obsessed.

Yes we won a trophy. Great for ange. Great for us. But if that was how we play against a team near the bottom of the prem. You are mental wanting another season of that.
Fudge me, we had zero creativity in midfield with no Madder, Kulu or Bergvall. Ange got his tactics spot on for this one, it was never going to be particularly pretty and in case you haven't noticed most finals are pretty dour.

There was nothing to criticise about last night, it was great....

He did brilliantly yesterday. He also showed the human side of him which has not been on display much this season and on a personal level was pleased to see that. When you look at it, he’s done a lot for players like Biss and Johnson.I still don’t think he’s main style of play is sustainable, but hey he’s shown tremendous pragmatism to win and that’s all you can ask for.

Second bit is crucial. Mourinho had lost the dressing room hence why he was sacked. And players win trophies, as much as managers!

Something a few of us have been trying to say for a while is that circumstances and context have not always been applied. It was pretty clear that come February, he was plotting the path of least resistance to the biggest potential reward. It was also clear that in Europe he was doing one thing, and in the league another. He certainly took a gamble. It was interesting to see him confirm that in his post-match presser, indeed, it adds greater context to the way the season has panned out. What is crystal clear is that the main people who counted -the players- never once lost faith in him, and he didn't lose faith in them. It has been a superbly unified effort.

He’s convinced me. I know the emotion in me is talking, but let the man build!

I still thought it was too early to assess Ange completely after the final but seeing as people are at it already...

I have leant to him going only because I never expected we would progress pass the Europa knockouts like we did.

If I am not mistaken it has only been last night and against Frankfurt that Ange has put an extra centre back on to keep the lead?

It shows he has learnt to adapt a little more. And he did well managing the schedule. Making players rested ahead of our ties and giving game time where he could to those who could not.

I think Ange has had a chip on his shoulder - partly because its just his nature but also because he hasn't felt like he wasn't taken seriously for managing a club as big as ours and now I think he will feel vindicated going forward.

Remember Its not Poch, its not AVB, its not Conte, its not even Jose who have delivered a tropy.

Its Ange.

He deserves respect for that even if you don't believe that he is a long term solution.

fudger bet the farm, it take a special kind of courage/crazy/judgement to do that.

The bet worked and he will forever have an acknowledgment for that.

The future conversation is for another day, congrats to everyone at club.
