Juande Ramos did actually, and then he finished bottom half which he then followed up by being bottom of the league on 2 points out of 24.

You would have us back there, it seems. As we sit 17th on 21 defeats.

It’s absolutely incredible that anyone can seriously consider keeping him on the basis of one game v Man Utd.

If we win the Europa, well done Ange. It’s a great achievement. But, fudge me, there is no argument for keeping this guy. 21 defeats. 17th in the league. That’s so far below the standard we’ve set over the last 20 years.
 
Keep him on? Make me laugh. He could win the Euro Vase and then discover he's descended from Agamemnon (maybe more likely Hector — or perhaps Dharramaalan) while featuring on 'Who Do You Think You Are?' He'll still never work in top-flight football again after this absolute débâcle of a failed experiment, if there's an ounce of sanity left anywhere in this godforsaken world.
 
My prediction is that we win the final and he leaves; in part because he can be a bit of a knob who likes to control the narrative.

It feels similar to Australia's qualification run for the 2018 World Cup. He was getting absolute pelters from everyone (including me) for dragging a pretty talented Australia side to the playoffs, when we should have qualified automatically. Drawing 2-2 in Thailand was particularly awful.

We got through the playoffs, then he promptly quit 6 days after qualifying. He said he didn't align with what the FA wanted but I think the constant criticism from Robbie Slater and Mark Bosnich really got to him. I imagine the same has happened this season.

We're in a season where no CL teams drop into the EL. We're in a season where the new leadership team has accepted the new manager sacrificing the league for a trophy. They know that is the right chapter in the in this novel.

So will be finding a better manager in a couple of weeks for the next chapter. I'm convinced of it.

I'm also convinced those football gods are going to bless us with a trophy in a few days. They know we deserve it.

I am in the belief Levy has negotiated Ange's departure with him already. My guess is he will get a larger spay off if we win, and the official line will be that he left by mutual agreement. If he isn't sacked, he will be after the first ten games of the season, by which time we will probably be bottom of the league. It's obvious he is out of his depth, and it was by the end of last season.

I disagree, but I hope I am wrong. Utd know how to get over the line, we have a history of bottling it. Either way, that useless piece of sh1t has to go

So you think Ange is a good manager. Perhaps you may want to look at the league table, and study the record books. Regardless of whether we have injuries or not we just lose game after game after game. The players aren't coached properly, their not organised properly, and they lack belief and motivation. To be fair though, he has taught them how to lose, and they accept it as the norm, so well done Ange.

You are of course entitled to your opinion, but I very much hope you realise that you are in a small minority now

Yes, you are right. He is not aligned with what the supporters and the board want from him. We want to see Spurs win some games, Ange doesn't think it's important!
 
Wins against Frankfurt, AZ and Bodo just don't cover how atrocious this season has been........look at that mess

If Leicester got the RVN appointment right this season we would be in the fight of our lives

You’re entitled to your view. And I actually agree with your core point 100%. But there is no need to call the guy “a piece of brick”. It’s unnecessary. He’s landed in a job that, IMO, he doesn’t have the ability to do well. He hasn’t killed anyone. Dunno why people can’t articulate their point without resorting to nasty insults. Doesn’t reflect well on anyone.

I disagree but I think the point Finney's making isn't unreasonable. He wants the club to win trophies more than anything else: if a manager can deliver that every other year, he believes it's worth retaining him, since there's no guarantee the next guy would be able to do so with the resources available at the club (if I understood correctly). And, to Postecoglou's credit, he went far if not close in the League Cup too.

Where I disagree is that he didn't get a shot at winning the EL because he's a better manager than any of those who came before him, but simply because he was allowed to completely throw away the league.

I used to play Magic when I was a young adult and they used to release cards who looked very powerful - and they were, under certain circumstances. 95% of the time, they were completely useless though but every once in a while, when everything else went right, they were game-changers. That's Postecoglou for me. Everything went right for him and maybe he'll win us something. But every Magic player I knew quickly turned away from those cards: there's already an element of luck in any game and you don't want to amplify that with something that will only work every once in a blue moon.
