American politics

It will be interesting to see Americans faced with the choice of A) Donald and B) Bernie (or a dead cat for that matter) in the next election. If they choose to stick with A after witnessing the sorry brickshow he's been putting on, I really hope he builds a massive dome over the country and become North Korea II.

I think the political/media class over there love Trump. They are making money hand over fist from books and the ratings/click boosts from the stories he generates. Mueller gets to go from a guy who helped bullsh1t everyone over the Iraq War to a hero (incidentally, the same media from The Washington Post to The New York Times also helped sell that war). The "moderate" Democrats get to pretend that they have no problems other than those pesky Russians; just continue to represent Goldman Sachs with a rainbow pin on your suit.

They are all insulated from whatever Trump does as president, which so far is to give massive tax breaks to the very rich and increase the harshness with which immigrants (the brown ones) are treated. Infact, they all benefit from the tax breaks. Best of all, this class of people can pretend that America's problems start and end with Trump; no corruption before Trump, no tea-party before Trump, no Democratic Party selling out their voters before Trump, no distrust of a bullsh1tting media before Trump (see every war America wages and the coverage of it leading up to/during said war). They are rehabilitating phucking scumbags like George W Bush, all cleaning their hands at Trump fountain.

They love him.

Spot on. It’s an odd time when those who are against Authoritarian rule are relying on the likes of Comey and Mueller - two guys who have worked for organizations that have sewn discord domestically and internationally. Both Democrats and Republicans have been spineless as they continue to gorge themselves from the trough of corrupte politics (enshrined by the Supreme Court in the ‘Citizens United’ ruling). Anyone pining for GW Bush - who lost the popular vote, was appointed by a Supreme Court decision and Al Gore’s weak concession over 500 votes in Florida that lead (indirectly) to the Iraq War which had a huge influence on the current world geo-political scene as well as a massive erosion of civil rights and extension of the powers of the CIA and FBI - is deluded. Ugh.

This man is batshlt crazy. The fact that he is a career criminal enabled by a venal Republican Party and corrupt political system means he's getting away with shlt that would have de-railed every other President in history.
