Alfie Devine

Bullet

Andy Thompson
Scored a sharp goal and looked decent for a child who cannot drink for 2 years. Good runs, awareness, touch, strike. Had to move position a lot as we got fragmented; as the second half wore on, Marine were absolutely knackered but our team did not improve e.g. Gareth Bale did NOTHING when he should be dancing around these tired guys and scoring.

I therefore assume we will never see Alfie again, 'tis the way of Spurs starlets since time immemorial. Wigan transfer incoming.

Unless he is good, in which case I called it first and could clearly see he would blossom n all that

Reminded me a little of Jones at Liverpool in that he has great energy, buzzes around and makes things happen.

Looks a prospect and wouldn’t be anywhere near the first team if Jose didn’t think similarly, I’d wager.

I believe the club have very high hopes for him
He will follow on skipps path I think

Yes, though given he's only 16 it might be til the season after next before he goes out on loan. Loan White out next year, and then Devine the year after

Continues in the tradition of 5 foot 8 CMs from our youth team - Carroll, Winks, Skipp, White, Devine,...

Well Devine is a big unit already and we signed signed him from Wigan
The last player we signed in a similar situation happened to be Danny Rose and he developed into one of the best in the land here

I was thinking that when Davies celebrated with him that it was positive that he seemed a similar size and as still only 16 looks like he has a bit of growing to do!

As mentioned above, the club have very high hopes for this kid. Hopefully he fulfills his potential. Got a feeling he will but im not going to lie. I am a terrible judge of a youth player.

Took his goal well and was always moving into space ( good sign for a young player), time will well i guess but we have seen many a young player look good on their debut and never push on and become a regular first team player for us. Good luck to him.
