Alfie Devine

Extended his contract and then have a loan with option to buy????

When we loan young players we usually extend their contract by a year. So they don't lose value. Ccv had his extended by 3 years i think.
Option to buy is vague. What price is the option for? Are there sell on/buy back clauses in the option? If other teams bid higher will preston have to match that?

Dunno.

Do people think he'll make it with us?
If so, in what position?

I think it's a massive season for him.

We need club trained players. So it's competition with them. Donley, lankshear, gray, moore, bergvall, abbot etc...

At the moment it doesn't look like it. The last 18 months he's not really pushed on. But it could click. Who knows. He has ability. But so do a lot of players.

Seems a bit odd. Maybe it's a gauntlet thrown to the player - your last chance? If he does well I'd imagine he'd just reject PNE and integrate into our first team squad next season. If not, we'll probably just encourage him to accept the move.

No
But I don’t think he has been given a chance too
Playing players in pre season games is fine but I’ve seen so many senior players not look great pre season and we stick with them
Devine has had some really good pre season games and we bin him off
No idea what happens in training or course but as we saw with Spence unless you play players in real games you don’t know how good they are
Shame

Don't know if it is true but I heard that the option to buy is for £6m which seems rather low.

Low for us, but not for them, Here's PNE's 5 biggest ever signings

Milutin Osmajic – £2.1 million.
Neil Mellor – £1.9 million. ...
Tom Bayliss – £1.9 million. ...
Jeppe Okkels – £1.7 million. ...
David Healy – £1.7 million. ...

I guess what this means is that there is no scenario where Devine ends up permanently at PNE. The clause is for other insurances.

He has experience of 15 games in the Championship and a season in Belgium. I think 6m is more than his value, and Transfermarket values him at 3.5m Euros:

Fair point
