Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Surely you don't dispute that both Alisson and Mamardashvili are better than Vicario?

I called out from very early on that Gazzaniga wasn't a very good keeper.

Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

He played 10 PL games and 8 Europa league games last year for Liverpool and has made 5 PL and 2CL games so far this season. He has also played 18 games for the Republic of Ireland. There is easily enough evidence of his talent. You can tell by watching him play just a few games that he is a...

Not all of them. Arsenal finished above us the first year and Chelsea the second year. Both were operating far higher wage bills than us which gave both of them deeper squads of quality. Pochettino was also an incredible manager for us, probably worth a 2 place improvement to us in terms of...

That's not true. Chelsea were prepared to sell him to Spurs. The price we could've got Grealish for at the very start of the window was actually £20 million. The player wanted to come, Pochettino really wanted him (he saw him as an Eriksen replacement) and the player's agent was really trying...

I'm pretty sure that we can afford it from an FFP perspective. It does require the owners to inject some equity however as from a cash flow perspective we cannot. Would be lovely if uncle Joe would dilute his holding for an equity injection, surely that particular billionaire has increased his...

Nearly won? Do not kid yourself. Though I suspect we would've come much closer (perhaps even won the title) in those two years we finished 3rd and 2nd under Pochettino had we been operating a much higher wage bill that would've meant a better recruitment structure and players.

Arsenal being below us in the table is also a temporary measure. They have been increasing their wage bill again recently. I suspect their wage bill will be back above ours in the next set of numbers.

Competition is a loose term in this case. We'd immediately have a very good first choice keeper and a keeper of a competent level to back him up. I think it is Vicario who makes the defence jittery as opposed to it being the other way round.

Did I blink and miss our chairman making another knee jerk sacking?!? :D

I don't think we should do anything other than graciously accept whatever punishment is given for one of our players behaving in a racist manner.

I doubt a decision to sack Postecoglou (or not) would come from anyone other than Levy.

I heard something slightly different. It is correct that he didn't really want to leave Chelsea, though he didn't want to stay enough to sign a contract that undervalued him. I heard that he was absolutely prepared to join us but we couldn't make the financials work.

I know that Ange really wanted him but I'm not convinced that he was absolutely what we needed. I think we need a more positionally sound player. The Michael Carrick that we sold to Man Utd would get this team close to contending IMO.

Yes but I don't think our chairman is brave enough (he's proved that time and time again and proved it royally with Poch who had an abundance of credit in the bank). I also don't think our fans are brave enough. I can see that on here, where a bunch already seem to want Ange gone and there...

Two new players would make this team really good I think.... A good keeper (Kelleher is probably available and better than Vicario by quite a margin). A real top class central midfield player who is positionally sound and can receive and keep the ball when under pressure. We should be...

It is folly to look at the last 30 games. Many of those were with a completely different squad. We should look at this season only, where still our points per game rate still certainly isn't good enough. However the sample size is still quite small and we probably should actually have more...

Ange has always been clear that he needed 5 or 6 transfer windows. I agree with him completely. We are now 3 windows in and I'd say we are at least 50% to 60% done in terms of building a team and squad that can properly challenge for trophies across multiple fronts. If we spend similar money...
