    Harvey Elliott

Frankly we aren't Liverpool's rivals ATM. Maybe if things go to plan we will be in a couple of seasons, but not now, and if that £50m gets them e.g. Isak it will be worth it for them. Not sure we need Elliott though, unless we are planning on selling a lot of midfielders.

    Douglas Luiz

Speaking about Sarr intercepting and launching a counter attack just reminded me of that goal in Bilbao 😁😁 a classic of the genre.

    Morgan Gibbs-White

I understand them protecting their interests but the whole thing is very small-time and not a good look for future signings. And the Levy comparison is moot because he would never have accepted such a low release clause in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if the low-ish release clause...

    Douglas Luiz

Really don't think Sarr is a DM. His main asset defensively is being able to intercept and launch counter attacks but he does that best when he can push up into a higher position. He's also such a strong runner with the ball, which would be wasted playing deeper, and he doesn't really seem to...

    Levy's Plan

CL money definitely helps expedite that plan though, both in budget and attractiveness.

It's just gotten the Romano "here we go"..!! £60m release clause apparently.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6485577/2025/07/10/morgan-gibbs-white-tottenham-transfer-forest/ Apparently we are now going after Gibbs-White, according to Ornstein/The Athletic.

Circus ManUnitus - Nobody's At The Wheel

It's very funny and would be funnier still if it didn't seem to be helping the scum.

    Liverpool thread

Surely some PSR funny business going on there with the Wirtz transfer. Add an extra e.g £20m of revenue onto the books immediately for the sales, but only amortise £4m of the cost this season.

    Let's fudging hope so.

    Mathys Tel

If Frank is the master tactician and developer of players that he's made out to be, there will be certain situations and formations where we can definitely get both of them on the pitch. And others where we can't, but it's a squad game.

They're very different players and I think both add valuable traits to our squad.

Probably has a stake via image rights. Gooner clam but seemingly a good lad and I have a soft spot for Oviedo because Sid Lowe supports them.

He has a huge amount of work to do but he has the characteristics to become a long term replacement for Son. Glad we've got him and £30m is a worthy gamble.

    Vinai Venkatesham - CEO

Yes but they would be spending beyond their means at a higher level if they could was my point. I'm actually pretty pro Levy as far as things go but the reality is that we need a benefactor of some sort to dump in cash to compete as aggressively as other clubs do relative to their income. Did...

    Vinai Venkatesham - CEO

Well yes of course, but it isn't just City and Chelsea. Forest, Villa, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Arsenal, United, they all spend beyond their means to maximise outlay within PSR restrictions. Whether the ownership can do it or not, it's what all of our competitors do, which is why the media asks why Levy...

    Vinai Venkatesham - CEO

Difference being that every other club spends to the PSR limit, i.e. £35m per season beyond the money that is 'there'. So we are effectively at at £35m annual handicap. Not including Chelsea of course who just sell things to themselves to increase the ceiling by tens of millions.

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

After being extremely against his appointment, I am coming round to the idea of Frank now. It is certainly "sensible". I just hope the football isn't brick.

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Not a great example but Maresca went straight from the Championship to 4th place and a trophy. Albeit a complete gimme of a trophy.

    Ange departs

Ok well it's looking nailed on now and I'll obviously back him should it happen but whenever I've seen them (and yes it's mostly been vs Spurs) I've not been massively impressed.
