I think Tel looks to have outstanding mentality. He's a very impressive person. One of the very few who dug deep, and tried to drag others with him, through all our recent crap managers

I'm not sure van de Ven crossed my mind as a candidate. From the outside he comes across as a bit petulant and selfish. This might change as he matures, but he doesn't seem to have that same generosity to guiding others that other (even younger) individuals like Gray and Tel do

    Manor Solomon

Might as well give LWB those minutes, especially as he's too young to go on loan next season. He's also already clearly levels ahead of Soloman Kudus is also supposedly back in full training and will be ready for the season KO

Part of my experience of playing reflects De Zerbi's comments about Ben Davies yesterday. Giving the captaincy to an older leader can be pointless - it doesn't change anything. They'd do the same role/contribute the same anyway. But giving it to an emerging leader can give them a 20% boost...

Archie 'Perryman' Gray for me. I think give it to a young guy with the right character and let him grow into it, and do it for a decade Porro as vice, as he'll likely be on the pitch more than the others with the suitable character

No chance of this with a £72m price tag. He'd be worth it at £30m

Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Interesting (and encouraging) in the Manchester mayoral that half of the Tory voters rowed in behind Labour for their second preference, rather than Reform

Perhaps. He'd still score double what either Richy or Solanke would, as well as offering much better link-up play

I agree. I'd think Jackson is good. He'd be world class if he could finish. And i have some unfounded sense that because he only started playing football later in life, the development of that aspect might still be to come

Morientes and Keane (who'd already signed that window IIRC) would have been a superb pairing. I guess Kanoute came a year or so later on anyway instead if my chronology is right
