    American politics

Trump views everything as transactional. One thing i would say though about Venezuelan oil is that Venezuela have been enabling Russia, China and North Korea to evade US tariffs and sanctions so this move while likely allowing the US to muscle in on Venezuelan oil production and supply, is also...

Not easy to just pump money into a club as an owner anymore. City were last gravy train club in England. Saudi ownership of Saudi Sportswashing Machine hasn't had the same propellant because they've had to put the money in gradually and organically.

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Kulusevski comes deeper to get on the ball than Xavi does and i am not sure Xavi is that "creative", in terms of passing. Whereas Kulu and Maddison are the only ones in the squad capable of taking a move that is bobbling around in midfield and driving or passing it forward into a dangerous...

It was a chance to step up in club stature, status, expectation and frankly, earnings.

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Its not that Kulu, Maddison and Solanke are elite level, its that they are in the first two cases creative both in terms of carrying the ball and passing. They also both score relatively consistently. Solanke is the only forward we have with a bit of hold up and linking play so yeah, you put...

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Who is talking about the way he plays? The post i was replying to was about which coach inherited the better situation. I've also said that regardless of style of play, players make a big difference to it. Man Utd under Fergie were not actually a team that set out to dominate the ball, they...

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Ange came into.......sorry what? Frank came into finishing 17th, record number of defeats of any team not to be relegated, most good players in the squad with long term injury issues and the whole top of the club ripped out after 20 years.....

So you want to sack a manager who took over a team that finished 17th and broke a record for losing the most games without getting relegated, because he's 12th at the midpoint, 4 points off 5th, having been without his firat choice striker and two most creative AMs for the entire season...

Well isn't the point that if finishing higher than 12th represents an acceptable improvement in gaining what the squad should achieve that we are currently 12th and only 1 point off 9th, 3 points off 7th, 4 points off 5th and 7th points off 4th. So your "acceptable season with this squad"...

Its more stuff I've seen such as "i'm happy with our CB options".....only if you're happy with scraping 5th being the ceiling of our ambitions. "Spence has done really well".....yeah he has, but he's not good enough.

Absolutely. Erik Lamela. Not a muscle man. 5'11 so not overly tall, just top side of average. But he played with a controlled aggression and nastiness at times that all the top teams have. This lot just visibly wilt in a fight. Either that or just lose control like Romero and do daft sh*t...

Theres been a huge revisionism in standards downwards from the Poch era mate. I see people on here rate players and say we have a top 4 level squad and i'm sat there laughing at it. Spence wouldn't even have got near the squad under Poch. I like him, he's a good player, but the last coach to...

Its not just about "does he put crosses in", its about the positions he takes out, the space he attacks etc. Spence brings things inside, Udogie takes things outside better and more regularly than Spence does which stretches teams more.

To be honest (i've said this countless times on here and got pelters for it), if we want to be an 'in the mix' club again we need to start looking at all of our players through a harsher lens. Porro is not a good right-back. That's not his fault. He'd never played right-back before Ange came in...

Yep. No other serious club would leave themselves one injury away from this being argued as some kind of long-term solution......

Again it goes to the team and team shape beating individuals and individual performances. I don't think Spence has been bad in an attacking sense. In fact I think he's been good. He's had a good season and played well. Its just that his attacking intent tends to be inside, cutting in, one-twos...

Football is a team game. Exceptional or not we look unbalanced when Spence plays left back and we look far better for me when Udogie plays.

One of things you forget about the Poch years is what beasts that team were. Eriksen and Son seemed like the weaklings in that team and they're both, what 5'11 and no push overs physically. Rose probably actually the smallest but again no shrinking violet to a bit of rough and tumble. Jan...

Spence isn't a left back. We look so much better attacking wise when a natural left footer plays there

We have enough up and coming talents. We could really do with some battle hardened experience spread more across the team. We could also do with some bigger, intimidating, physical players.
