It's fine. As long as we also have more creative, progressive players in midfield. Defensively and in duels he really is special.

Did well I thought. As we've come to expect of him. Really solid defensively and in duels. Some good passing when he gets space, but a bit of a non entity on the ball when we're under pressure.

    Djed Spence

Absolutely. And him inverting from the left with Gray covering worked really well.

    Ben Davies

Great to see him back on the pitch. Felt kinda nostalgic.

Thought Slavia looked decent, a bit vulnerable/open defensively, but good on the ball, good pressing and a strong physical team. Just my impression, may be wrong, but think that speaks to our performance. Agreed that it's clear signs of progress. We're still a bit sloppy in more ways than one...

Biggest redemption arc since Emerson Royal... 😉

    Richarlison

The giving him credit part of your post is you saying "I do give him credit"? Or is that you pointing at some other time you gave him credit? Also Falco and Falcao are two different footballers.

    Randal Kolo Muani

Still fairly early days with him here. 8 starts, and a couple of injury disruptions after joining late and having his preseason disrupted at PSG. Good reasons to think there's more to come from him. But already looking good, and him being able to play both as a striker and on the left and being...

    Mikey Moore

Good goal that. Loved how before actually receiving the ball he was repeatedly showing for it, then just how natural it all is when he receives it, spins away, exploits the space, waits for the space to open up again, cool finish. Hope it's the first of many up there, seemingly settling in well...

    Cristian Romero

We need more players at or around his level, agreed. Create that team a top class player can thrive in. I guess I agree with the silliness. Seemed to have put that behind him for a while, seemingly back again now. Perhaps a result of frustration with how we've been performing and the results...

    Pedro Porro

To me a bit too hit and miss on the ball to call it a great game, but definitely improved on some of his recent worse performances. He always shows for the ball. He always willing to play with risk, try the difficult thing, be ambitious on the ball instead of passing the responsibility to...

    Destiny Udogie

I agree that they have different skill sets and that's fine. In isolation it would make sense to play Spence when up against a better LW, Porro for games when we have more of the ball. But most teams with top class left wingers will be really good teams where we'll struggle to progress the ball...

***Tottenham Hotspur v SK Slavia Praha***

Fairly big difference between top 8 and 9th-24th. There's also a seeding for the knock off play off round, 9th-16th most likely giving an easier play off. Easiest game we have left by some distance most likely. Perhaps not quite a "must win", but we really need to win this one.

Not for me. Could work of course, I don't know what Slavia will bring. If we're resting Porro for example, missing out on one of our best passers from deep I don't want Palhinha as our lone deep midfielder. Get some creativity deep in midfield and move from there. If Slavia pose a similar...

***Tottenham Hotspur v SK Slavia Praha***

Want to see us be front foot and attacking, impose ourselves. One of Gray and Bergvall in one of the deeper roles in midfield would be my preference. Maybe this could be the game where Bergvall gets a game there? Probably not, but one can hope. May see Romero rested? VdV got the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game...

    Richarlison

Agreed. If we use him correctly, manage to create chances for him to finish, let him create chaos around him - and have runners/players around him to benefit he's a good player even with his technical shortcomings. Ask him to hold the ball up and drag us up the pitch against big PL centre...

    Luka Vuskovic

Nothing quite like sheer pace. VdV, Walker etc. The defenders that outright beat even most quick attackers in a footrace. But awareness, positioning, decision making and agility goes a long long way. Be good enough at that and real pace is a bonus you either have or don't have, but it's not the...

    Luka Vuskovic

I definitely agree that his development should be the primary priority with him. Question of if he's ready for a rotation role where he can also keep developing or not yet ready being the question for the club to figure out come the summer.

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Will probably need to do some rotation, but we have players we can rotate in that can play with that intent. Bergvall and Odobert in particular for me. No easy games and all that, but really a game where we should be able to impose ourselves and play some good attacking football building on...

    Destiny Udogie

A younger gem would be really good. As far as I know we don't have any super highly rated left backs in the academy and we have several options for that role. And hopefully Udogie gets past his injury problems at some point.
