    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

So half a season is too short of a time to expect an identity. At what point is it reasonable to expect an identity to become clear? Two thirds of a season? Three quarters? A full season? More? To me it seems that most managers who end up with success at our kind of level are able to establish...

What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Why bring him back when we had Lange? I'm guessing the idea within the club was that Lange alone wasn't enough?

    Mohammed Kudus

Was mentioned on the extra inch pod that someone noticed Frank applauding Kudus for turning back on occasions. Was based off a listener comment. But not sure if that's something anyone else noticed?

What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Very much agreed. If true that Paritici is on his way in I hope whoever replaces him has the ability to work towards an identity and see the big picture in addition to the shorter term deal making that Paratici seems good at.

What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Most managers seem to have preferences and styles of play they're more comfortable implemting and working with or towards. To me it seems that the majority of successful managers have pretty clear styles they prefer. The key is hiring a manager whose preferred way of working fits with where we...

    Xavi Simons

We'll never get away from the human element of decision making and evaluating things in these situations. Obviously there are better and not so good referees and it's seemingly impossible to get a way of doing VAR that ends up working well. But there will imo never be real consistency. To me it...

What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Him, MGW, then Simons. Seemed like we ended up with Simons for whatever reasons for that #10 role.

    Archie Gray

Probably a bit of that siege mentality. We also had no choice other than to play with more risk and more in tight spaces because there's fewer ways to keep it safe. Again Gray imo thrived in those tight spaces as he's done repeatedly in the past too. But if we're not willing to give him the...

What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Great player. Probably would be an upgrade on Simons short term at the very least. Has the individual quality to solve some important issues for us. But mostly plays as a #10, some way off our biggest priority imo. And would probably cost a fortune if we could sign him.

Liverpool allowed us time and space on the ball, sat back quite a bit. As we've seen before in those circumstances we'll look at least alright. We got forward, put them under quite a bit of pressure, created some chances. Good to see, though I think it was more about how they played than...

Was a graph going around showing Bentancur's progressive passing this season compared to last season. Both seasons after his injury. Essentially halved the amount of progressive passing from last season. Not that he was great at it last season either, but this is partly a result of how we play...

Fabio Paratici - Also Sporting Director

Both like some of the stuff he's done and have some reservations about him. But so many changes in the last 6 months, a lack if an identity at the club, losing Paratici doesn't seem like what we need. Also think hiring someone really good to replace him would be difficult hiring to a joint DoF...

For sure there was quite a bit of sloppiness and some strange decision making at times. Not denying that. But also seemed to me like we were overall trying to get forward, attack, get numbers forward. And our own pressing was quite good. A lot to go on, but some positive signs.

    Mohammed Kudus

Yeah. Looked quite different to how I remember him earlier in the season at least. If that's instructions he is or isn't clear on how to execute, form or some kind of niggling injury issue I'm not sure. But Kudus having space to run into on the ball against an unsettled opposition and not taking...

    Cristian Romero

To me part of taking risks is letting players with quality play with freedom and do what they think is right there and then in the moment even if it's not the typical thing they do. You spot a opportunity to really hurt the opposition you either take it or you don't. If the instincts aren't...

    Archie Gray

Didn't think he looked lost, just bypassed. With 10 men we had to play in tight spaces and with risk to keep the ball, and he showed what he can do. Now just give him the ball more in those situations with 11 vs. 11 for me.

    Cristian Romero

Don't know. He backs himself to do the difficult and ambitious thing. Several times just in this game that came off and helped us progress the ball in a good way. As it should be imo. That's him taking responsibility. I wish we had more players occasionally giving the ball away in that way...

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

There's significant luck/variance involved over a league season too imo. Over time better performances, better quality of play, will lead to better results. That's why I care more about performances than results. A good run of results like the first handful of games this season that doesn't...

I think it's close between Muani and Richarlison. Very different players offering very different things. We missed what Richarlison offers with Muani, but the opposite would probably have been true had Richarlison started. Agreed that it was far from a game between two good looking teams. But...

    Archie Gray

Thought he did well again. There were some moments after we went behind until he was subbed off I think are worth highlighting. Moments in and around our box IIRC. He showed fantastic composure and quality to keep possession and then help us get out. Similar qualities he showed last season when...
