OMT: Spurs v Saudi Sportswashing Machine - Sonny's Farewell

Saw a clip in the changing room from the Arsenal game of Frank emphasising intensity on 2nd ball.

The triangle of VDV, Romero and Palinha will be hard to break through.

Friendly match: Tottenham v Arsenal (Hong Kong) 12.30/7.30pm BST/HKT

Would a healthy loss be a bad thing here? Although Levy not one to hit the transfer market on the back of a friendly result. Could be painful with no no10.

He’s an 8 for me. I don’t see that changing. Wants to cover a lot of grass and adds a bit of impetus in transition.

I rate this guy and have mentioned him a few seasons ago. He was magic for Brugge and then AC Milan snapped him up. Since moved to Atalanta. Isn’t he more a wide player? Defo has the tools to play central.

    James McAtee

The problem is those players were all bought at their ceiling/peak age. Thats a failure on the scouting/strategy. If you want to buy from prem you really need to grab players that are a bit younger and on an upward curve (tier 2 if you like as tier 1 like Isak aren’t coming to us). Kudus and...

    Morgan Gibbs-White

Exactly. Clause triggered but player says no and stays at Forest. If he really wanted to play for us he digs his heels in. We move on.

    Morgan Gibbs-White

Big fan of this signing. Can operate anywhere behind the striker (L/C/R) and works his socks off when I’ve seen him. Has a touch of class with a couple of particularly amazing assists in the last couple of seasons. See if I can dig them out. Here’s one:

    Eberechi Eze

You rate Kudus? I've not seen loads of him but in the games against us I think he's been pretty anonymous.....apart from maybe one goal. He has tools undoubtedly.

    Eberechi Eze

Agree....but we have finite cash. And I think it could go elsewhere. Having said that.....it was as recent as our last game that we were left with no number 10 and the we know the schedule will be busy - so there's an argument all 3 will get loads of game time.

    Eberechi Eze

I still cant work out why we'd sign another left sided player or a 3rd number 10. Very good player who I rate but isn't there other priorities? Maybe they are all being worked on at once..........

    Archie Gray

Does he have a knock? Lots of players I’ve had to Google getting on ahead of him in this U21 final.

You’ve inserted Routledge and Dempsey as parallels to Mbuemo and Eze. Hmmmm.

You can be pretty sure that the likes of Mbuemo, Eze, Cunha etc will be able to make an impact from game 1. If you’re signing 18-20 year olds from the Championship/Europe then maybe not.

If we got Mbuemo I’d be really happy with the right side. Mbuemo (first choice) Johnson (rotation) Odobert (can play both sides, better left imo) Deki (prefer centre but still cover) 2 lefties and 2 righties. That’s good.

    Mathys Tel

Same for me. End quality needs work but he’s young. My son told me he’s not overly quick and I think he’s right. But I saw potential. Looks to have a great attitude on and off the pitch so no problem for me adding on the left seeing as Son probably going after this season and Moore going on...

    Bryan Mbeumo

Are you tinkled? 20 goals and 7 assists from the right flank in the Premier League last season. 2nd only to Salah I imagine.

    Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Levy isn’t gonna be happy with 8th or 9th no. And overachieving to reach 10th instead of 15th (like at Brentford) is a much smaller leap to overachieving to reach 4th from 9th for example. I like the appointment a lot though. Always liked listening to him and I like that’s he’s adaptable. Has...

Absolutely agree. No final for 34 years (let alone win) is awful. It’s the competition I loved most growing up and would love to win it.

Looking forward to Brentford snapping up Ange and then them finishing above us. Cue Armageddon.
