That is where their owner stepped in and stalled the transfer, looking for a higher fee. Before that we were moving forward with it. Probably City had agreed a player + cash deal with Forst which the owner signed off. But when that didn't work out, Forest worked with Spurs to progress the cash...

🤫 it intimates that it’s a secret and is enough to show the information was out there a year ago. If this dude is tweeting it then who else has this information? It shows the info isn’t confidential.

I think you said Spurs were potentially breaking an EU law on trade secrets. But if the (already tenuous) trade secret has been on Twitter for a year, that doesn’t seem so. Even if it hadn't been twitter i don't think thfc would have been breaking this law.

Just shows that this supposedly confidential information was already in the public domain a year ago. There would be no grounds to claim THFC have misused confidential information (as some Spurs fans have suggested!). I get the Forest fans being sore and making accusations, but don't get our...

You're more excited by Gibbs-White than Kudus. I can't say I've seen much of G-Ws game, what is it that excites? I know he's good, was nominated for the PFA player of the year, and clearly a good addition.

If we bid the release clause after various sources had reported on the release clause then is there any case against thfc at all? I don’t believe so. There maybe a case against MGW, but how you’d prove the leak came from his side must be difficult. Accountants, club employees and former...

M&A involving a share price is a very distinct domain where information is hugely sensitive. I wouldn’t assume that confidentiality clauses from M&A is applicable to employment contracts.

I think it relates to the Equalities Act and discrimination. If you wanted to check that there isn't a gender pay gap for example, disclosure of pay would trump any confidentiality clauses.

If you were correct, how are journalists earning an income publishing this information? The difference here is with a murderer not being convicted, there was simply a lack of evidence to do so. The law is 100% clear: murder is illegal. In this instance there isn’t a clear law you can cite that...

Yes essentially Forest could pursue their own player for breach of contract. His contract will have a confidentiality clause stating he or his agents can’t disclose club sensitive information. But even that is hard to prosecute because there are laws that ensure employees can disclose...

I think the law protects the act of disclosure of confidential information. But to prosecute those who receive information from a third party without stealing it, is a stretch. Otherwise you could prosecute journalists who’ve run the MGW story, posters on forums etc which would be illogical...
