He's signed a new contract with Bayern, no? That would take him out of our range I'd have thought, factoring wages too.

Friendly match: Tottenham v Arsenal (Hong Kong) 12.30/7.30pm BST/HKT

Very promising performance - Roma '08 yardi, yardi, yada.... - and looks like solid foundations to build from. Hopefully the first victory of many against them for Thomas...

I don't think his passing is as limited as that, particularly over shorter distances. It's not as good as Bentancur's, but he offers a hell of a lot more defensively. Broadly I agree with the point above - there's a different role for different players depending on the opposition.

Confirmed we’re in talks about a loan. Makes sense as a stop gap and instantly becomes our best pure holder (if fit). This red card machine narrative is fake news, as is yellow card magnet. Averaged 1 in every 3 at Fulham, which isn’t low, but given not one red card suggests he has intelligence...

It certainly helps to make that push with conviction when you’re flush from having £140m+ from Barcelona burning a hole in your pocket. I take your point though, particularly that we only spend big when the leverage is with us.

    ITK Thread

I know this is largely based on nothing more than idle online tittle tattle, but I do feel the One That Shall Not Be Named is a big move for Wharton. It would make sense that it’s taking its time in that we’re trying to wrap MGW up first, so as Marinakis doesn’t pump us for more money if he...

Any idea what the club’s logic, apart from the obvious (£££), is on this?

FYI it’s basically two years difference in age. But I take it that Kudus feels a bit more raw.

I can really relate to this. I’m not sure if it’s the above, or shifting priorities in my personal life, specifically a growing family meaning less physical and mental bandwidth for football, but I’m definitely not engaged as I was a few years ago.

    Fixture & Ticket News 25/26

I mentioned this in the Winners' thread, but due to personal circumstances, I can no longer take this trip. Anyone look for a flight from Stansted to Venice on the morning of the game, returning the following day, with accommodation in Udine, let me know as I'm happy to offload for face value +...

    Eberechi Eze

To really kick on this year, I think we need 3 first teamers - DM, WF and CF - and a couple of moneyballers - FB, AM.

    Cristian Romero

If we could rely on him to stay focused and fit, if we don’t get the price we want, I’d keep him for another year based on the thinking above. It’s a gamble though, particularly in a World Cup year and what history tells us about Romero’s focus when he’s distracted / doesn’t have a clear goal...

Yes, there is obviously some upside for him. I just find players that sign big contracts at smaller clubs at that age, can find themselves trapped there - Zaha, Kane (!) dare I say it, Eze to a lesser extent - during their peak years.

Mental, unless he has a favourable clause. Potentially just signed away his peak years… to Bournemouth.

Thanks mate, we’ll get there. Just right in the thick of it at the moment and I’m not expecting any let up for a while.
