Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Never a good look for a politician (especially a right-wing one) when they’re struggling badly in an interview with Laura K, but that’s what happened this morning to the MP for Clacton. He would cut public expenditure, but didn’t seem to be on top of the details as to why Reform’s 19 year-old...

Frank looking at videos of situations which have just unfolded, analysing in-game, consulting with his coaches…very good to see.

Feels like news of this first leaked during the early stages of the Industrial Revolution.

Yeah, had to check the calendar when I read the post, but - amazingly - it would appear to still be 2025. Kind of comment which is often followed with, “Well, it’s what all my mates down the golf club say.”

Good grief. Ironically, reads like it was written by someone quite a bit younger than 16.

His entire political career was founded and based on leaving the EU. He sold that as having control of our borders and being able to limit immigration as a result (as well as the multitude of other benefits it was going to bring). He never mentions Brexit now, and I don’t see it being mentioned...

“The real Rory,” as AC calls him? Big into betting, isn’t he?

I was pretty taken aback…just said something like, “How weird, I’ve just been listening to Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart discussing you on The Rest is Politics” and he laughed and said, “I’ll have to catch up with that!” Unfortunately nothing similar has ever happened when I’ve been...

Had the weirdest Ed Davey experience recently… I was walking my dog while listening to The Rest is Politics, who spent around 10 minutes debating whether they thought Ed Davey’s use of bizarre stunts was political genius or madness. They had just finished discussing him, I walked another 100...

    Fixture & Ticket News 25/26

True! 😃😃 I always try to go to one of the first couple of games of the season…and looking at the fixture list, I doubt I’ll be back up pre-Christmas, due to work, and because of cost too. So, potentially Burnley or bust for me! 😃 Particularly keen to be there to see the new broom beginning...

So… If my daughter buys a ticket (for the Burnley game) using her membership, will a screenshot of her ticket get my wife (who is not a member) in?

Really enjoyed it - a very well put together stage. Excellent to see Simon Yates take the win. Just about to pour myself a large glass of red to accompany the rest day ITV4 show. It’s going to be a much poorer event without them next year.

Anecdotal, but my father-in-law and neighbour (both admirers of Farage) comment on this every time they talk about a hospital appointment or a visit to the doctor. As in, “I saw the doctor. He was Indian. I couldn’t understand a word he was saying and I told him that. ” That’s an actual...

According to the articles below (and similar ones I’ve read lately) Farage is promising billions per annum in tax cuts which are, to a large extent, unfunded. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/farage-compared-to-truss-over-unfunded-reform-spending-spree_uk_6835a637e4b034e8d0519d3e...
