OMT: Mighty Spurs v South Coast Big Club FA Cup 4th Round Replay

Did they review it? Looked sketchy to me.

I think that, every evening, Ndombele attires himself in full dress uniform, goes down into his cellar and eats three whole 15-inch pizzas and 2 lbs of chow mein.

    VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

If City had scored, they'd have let it ride*; if Spurs had scored, it would have been brought back. * Imagine the hilarity/consternation if they had, but Dean had ruled it out and awarded them a penalty, which Lloris then saved. ...And, in the meantime, someone had been sent off for...

Football Trivia Question of the Day

Arse were Dial Square, Spurs were just called Hotspur but later prefixed it with Tottenham to avoid confusion with another club around at the time called London Hotspur. Were City Moss Side or something? Don't know Burnley.

    Toby Alderweireld

He was a trier on the pitch, but only ever tried the wrong things in my view. He appeared to like to get into tussles with defenders much bigger than him and always seemed to end up on his arse. I'm sure I remember Pochettino implying more than once that his attitude in training wasn't the best...

Best performance I've seen from him in ages, I thought he was up there with our top performers yesterday.

    Davinson Sanchez

He was shaky first half, and didn't want to pass to anyone but Lloris for a while after the howler, but I thought he grew into the game in the second period. Hopefully a watershed for him (although I probably wouldn't be holding my breath there).

They haven't thought these things through properly. If the on-field ref has given a decision, then there ought to be a window of just a few seconds for VAR to indicate they want to review for a possible "clear and obvious" error. They then communicate that to the ref, who blows his whistle and...

Friend was probably waiting for the ball to go out but eventually lost his nerve and instructed Dean to halt play.

If the result was the only thing that mattered and nothing else, why would you even bother watching the game? Ceefax would do you.

OMT: Mighty Spurs vs Big Oil

Still think our game-management needs a lot of work, particularly in terms of keeping the ball. We kept gifting them possession, even in stoppage time at the end of the game. I'm still not sure how they didn't manage to take at least one of the opportunities we gave them.
