    Rum Hangovers

I only like rum when it's good rum. None of that Bacardi nonsense. I brought back a couple of bottle of Mount Gay Extra Old from holiday in Barbados a couple of years ago. Bloody lovely stuff. Can't stand muck like Bacardi now.

The Official 'Where Are They Now?' Thread

Re: The Man, The Myth, The Legend: Paul Stalteri retires I don't remember ever going quite so mental about a goal as I did at Upton Park that day. Well, OK, the winner at the Emirates two years ago probably beats it as I did my ankle in celebrating that one, but still.

    Kuala Lumpur

I thought it was more line 60km from the airport to the city? All a bit hazy now, but seemed quite a lot further than 35km.

    Kuala Lumpur

Yes, but only for one night on a trip down for business from Singapore. Thought KL was great. I quite like Singapore as a stop on the kangaroo routes, but it is a bit - alright, very - sterile compared to KL! Didn't do too much partying on account of having meetings the next morning, but did...

    The Goon Thread

It's the weird, twisted logic of football supporters. Like the old adage of a "six pointer". I wonder if people would've been saying "it means nothing" if we'd lost to them? Anyway, like I said elsewhere, this isn't terminal for us. Yet. But it pretty soon will become so if we don't get to...

    ***Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham OMT***

Ain't quite terminal yet, but three defeats in a row... That much vaunted "we have confidence because we're winning games" story starts to have a coach and horses driven right through it. Work to be done.

Europa League 2012-13 - QF: Basel (SUI)

It says the 5% is the minimum that have to be allocated. I suppose we fob off more if we think the visiting side can sell them and we can't? But we hardly ever seem to ask for - or take - extra. I can remember once or twice I think, but maybe I'm just making that up.

Europa League 2012-13 - QF: Basel (SUI)

Appears so based on what I'm reading in the regulations. Same applies for Champions League, by the way. It also says the home club has to make up to 200 top category tickets available for "VIP" guests of the visiting club. Ha! Oh, and then there are the complimentary VIP tickets that UEFA...

Just downloaded the Europa League regulations. How sad am I?! Definitely 5%.

5% for European competiton, no? So I make it 1875 max.

    A question for any shareholders....

I ain't an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but private limited companies in the UK do need to prepare a set of statutory accounts. I assume these definitely need to go to HMRC and Companies House, and guess they probably also need to be made available to shareholders. Quickest way to...

    Anyone been to Brussels?

What dingdongo said. Brussles ain't the most picturesque of cities, that's for sure. Grand Place is about as pretty as it gets, but I'd only hang around there for sampling some beers in the local bars. The restaurants in the side streets around it are of the variety where the waiters stand...

    Anyone been to Brussels?

I dunno how well Brussels is catered for the latter. The only time I saw anything vaguely resembling titty bars was on a train heading out to Antwerp on the outskirts of Brussels, but I reckon that was more red light district than titty bars. Never ventured there on foot to check it out though...

    Anyone been to Brussels?

Manneken Pis... Nah, seriously, the beer is great. I used to love my trips over to Brussels for work just for that reason alone. The beer is loads better than we can get here. And there's more of it.

    O/T Away Game Thread

Good job! I really enjoyed both previous trips to Milan, even though it isn't exactly a picturesque city like Rome. Don't recall any trouble last time we were there for Inter. Even post game mixing with some of the Inter fans in a couple of bars on the way back to Lotto Metro station. Probably...

Just seen Ferdinand's reaction at the end in the ref's face. What a clown shoe. I wonder if he'll watch that later or tomorrow or something and think - "Yeah, I was a bit of a dingdong doing that." Suspect not.

    The Cricket Thread

Evidently the first side ever to lose by an innings having declared after batting first. Didn't they also establish a first a number of years ago when Waugh enforced the follow-on and VVS took them to the cleaners? Anyway, if my Aussie mates are right, and England can swing it, the difference...
