    Headphones

I've only ever had two pairs of headphones. Apart from the tat in-ear ones that always get binned. A pair of Beyerdynamic DT311s. Cracking value for less than £50 when I bought them donkeys years ago. Still knocking around somewhere, although the cushioning on the headband has disintegrated...

So Tendulkar announces his retirement I see. Doesn't come as too much of a surprise I guess. Always looked likely he'd pack his bags after his 200th test. Still remember that match saving ton at OT on his first tour of England - not to mention the outrageous one handed catch he took! The way...

    Touch

Berbatov's first touch was almost always sumptuous. Watching him bring the ball down effortlessly while he was in the air himself was just awesome. Not seem anything like it since. Anywhere. (Rose tinted glasses an' all that, but still, it was something to behold)

    Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale In theory, it should really be Hoddle for me too. Thing is, football being the odd emotive experience it is, I only started going semi-regularly at the same time we brought Waddle in, so I somehow felt that much more attached to him! (Or maybe it was the mullet?...!)

    Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale 1984, and you're right, plenty have gone before and will go after. Bale's departure does not have me in tears like Chris Waddle's did.

    Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale Until I bothered watching that video, I'd kind of lost the emotional connection. Just looked at the numbers, the signings we've made, the thrill of what's to come, and thought - "Yeah, no matter that Bale's going"... Yet, sentimental fool that I am, watching that and...

Asha's on Newhall Street. Bit pricey and not you velour wallpapered job by any stretch of the imagination, but very good when I was there a few weeks ago.

Yes. Weeks ago for my ST as a Gold. Hang on... brick! Where have I put it?!

    LPs been updated

-491 for me this season. No idea if that's accurate. Still have 420 so not doing too badly, although I think that shifts me potentially about 100 people down the list vs. last season.

    Fixture & Ticket News - 2013/14

Summer holiday period too. I can't go for that reason alone. I sometimes think Kazan was easier to get to than Selhurst Park anyway!

    Car windscreen damage

As big an arsehole as the person is who did that, you've been lucky... my S2000 got two eggs lobbed at it a few years ago when it was less than a year old. "Easy to clean off" most people think. What most people don't realise is how bloody bastard brittle eggshell is and the sort of damage it...

Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

Explains a lot. That was by some stretch the worst secondary school in the London Borough of Brent for many, many years. Not that my own school in said Borough was that much better, but still...

First Match - Who Will We Play?

Re: First Match - Who Will We Play? Fixtures to be released on wednesday 9am Coincidentally, here's an article about how the fixtures are decided. So no rule as such that prevents a derby on opening day, but a preference not to schedule it that way...

I remember last time I went out to Oz to watch the Ashes how much better value - and more easily available - tickets were at the SCG. Seems still to be the case vs. pulling hens teeth here! I dare say the relative capacities - 100k+ at the MCG, and a comparatively paltry 36k at the SCG vs. 28k...

The Europa League - Sh1t got real...

The Europa League - Sh1t got real...

Re: The Europa League - brick could be about to get real... Also appear to be considering whether to award a Champions League qualifying place to teams finishing fifth in the bigger European leagues. Beneficial to us, yes, but why bother with any other competition then?

Poll: Vote for your best Gareth Bale goal this season

Controversial, but the header at St. Mary's was something quite special. (I think I'm just saying that 'cos I FINALLY saw us win away at Southampton this season!)

    SLR cameras

Do what I do - have the SLR for most shooting, and a compact with good manual control for when you can't manage the bulk. My PowerShot S90 goes on all our European away days. ;) wouldn't dream of taking my EOS600D on those trips!

    SLR cameras

Good luck with the search, whichever way you choose to go in the end! I never bought any of the reference books, but I did take out a subscription to EOS Magazine - only because it was on special offer. I think it's like £24.99 for a year? That's been more useful for me because I don't have...
