Better than the Rory Jennings performative half-hour.
I thought the Palmer incident was an Orange, could have gone, could have stayed on, it was a difficult decision, I wasn't overly upset with him not being sent offNoticed that neither MOTD and Sky highlights showed Morgan Rogers's kick of Conor Gallagher which was appalling. If you are going to talk about violent conduct, that was awful.

The Rogers kick out was just trying to injury someone, should have been walking, thug behaviour
I thought the ref had an excellent game other than that, which should have been picked up by VAR anyway

Which of Palmer's offences did you think was Orange? I thought hitting a man off his feet was a red card. I also thought the second incident was a deliberate assault due to his frustration and was worthy of a red card. Both were the actions of a petulant thug.
And last night, why did Salisbury not have a moment of hesitation sending the 16 year old Gooner off for doing a very similar thing? It wasn't even as endangering as Palmer's as there was less head involved from the player on the ground. Salisbury and Kavanagh work on the same elite referees team. My guess is that Howard Webb discussed the Chel vs THFC incident in their weekly meeting and we will now see mroe red cards for these types of offences. Should a 16 year old get treated differently to a senior England international?
No, every player should be treated the same way no matter how old they are, which club they play for or their reputation. This is the major problem too much of the niggly and macho confrontation goes unpunished by officals, players should be treated like adults but they've got to behave like adults.
That is true. What is also true that if both players knew that they would receive an immediate red card for taking the law into their own hands then they wouldn't do it in the first place. If they thought that there would not be a single doubt in a refree's head then they behave so differently. This is where officiating is letting the system down. Perhaps one day, the other 21 players on the pitch would also look down on the violent player and easily accept. Then we have a noble sport again.
Thought that was supposed to be the rule?Really need to adopt the rugby convention and only allow captain to speak to ref about decisions.
It kind of isThought that was supposed to be the rule?
