“In my head it goes back to the Europa League semi-final here when I got injured here because I did a partial ACL tear against Bodo/Glimt,” Maddison told a group of reporters, including The Athletic, after Spurs’ game against Leeds United on Monday. “I was told by the (external) specialist it wouldn’t need surgery and rehab. Then obviously it wasn’t strong, it didn’t recover properly and I needed the full surgery which is what happened in South Korea. So in my head it’s not really been like that it’s been longer.”
I'm glad he bluntly calls out the injury situation. We need a complete overhaul of the medical department to make sure we get to the bottom of our injury troubles and fix it properly.
If we manage to reduce our injuries to the PL average or better, whoever we bring in to make that happem will be our best signing this sunner.
Is this the current “injury” thread or is there a 26/27 one? Please move this if I am in the wrong thread.
I was just thinking that Spurs this season have deliberately been cautious about redlines/ players over-playing/ injury prevention.
Does anyone have a list of players’ minutes during this international break?
I’m thinking in particular of first teamers Robertson, VdV, JPVH, Gray, Bentancur, Tonali, Bergvall, Tel, Marmoush etc as they played a LOT of minutes and some flew around the world too. 4 games in a short period.
Therefore it might be wise to give more game time to SOME OF BUT NOT ALL OF Udogie Senesi Tosin Fernandes Maddison Kudus Savio Solanke…
The last thing we want is 2 hamstrings and an ACL for any of the first lot.
PS did you see Morgan Rogers clatter into the keeper last night, I felt sure he bent his knee the wrong way but he just carried on for the whole game. Shame that Spurs players are made of biscuits. I also noted Spurs fan and Spurs target Alex Scott of Bournemouth finally got his England chance and is now out for two months
