Richarlison

The only issue I have with this is Solanke is made of glass. Richy was much more likely to get us goals until we had signed a replacement. I didn't mind the decision to sell Lankshear until this point.
The other issue with Solanke is that he doesn't score goals. The other issue is that his runs are out of sync with everyone else. We're Marmoush or nothing

I can’t help feeling it’s all a bit unsavoury as an end to his time here. Not good enough for what we need for sure but that doesn’t take from his endeavour and commitment and I don’t think he deserves the flak he’s now getting. Just let him move on with our good wishes.
I’m not even convinced his words the other day were against us, rather that he felt his representatives had bounced him into a deal he didn’t want to accept. Maybe we felt that having finally said he wanted to leave, his then rejection of the offer on the table messed up the end of the window for us and he’s burnt bridges because of that. I understand that but I’m sure it’s not the first time it has happened. Always a shame when things seemingly break down behind the scenes but I’ll wish him well at his next club.

I get the feeling that he is paying a heavy price for the transgressions of others prior. Romero went public twice and was not sanctioned in any real way. I think this heirarchy are determined that never happens again, so appear to have made it clear to RDZ that he is off limits/off to Turkeye.

I thought perhaps the two would work it out until January, but this feels like a club decision to stand ground and make it clear there is no tolerance for going to the press.

I am a fan of Richy, and also think he is a decent human.
I hope he gets that move and I hope we have the class to give him a good send-off.

So it’s ok for RDZ to throw him under the buss to the press?

Where did I say that?
No, I think he should've kept it behind doors the two times he brought it up. What I was personally hoping would happen is that both would shake hands and he'd be an option for us. In the event, I am sad at how it has turned out, and have a lot of sympathy for a player I believe was never less than 100% honest with us..:

This is ending in tears for Richy.

He's not the smartest and probably getting poor advice. Take the example of Sarr who left quickly and efficiently.

He's also losing goodwill with spurs and everton fans.

Everton for what ever reason didn't get a striker , probably waiting for Richy to put pen to paper, and are now looking very light in the squad.

His comments felt more like a dig at Everton if anything, looked like they were trying to get him on lower wages and he's not having it. Rightly so.

He always gave everything, some may say he didn't have enough to give, he'll always be one of us and I wish him well in his life.

I'm obviously not privvy to what was said behind the scene, but I really hope not including him in our squad list doesn't come to bite us in the arse. A lot of people don't seem to rate him now, but they didn't turn their noses up at the goals that kept us up last season. He's 29 and he's got one last big contract to earn. You'd have to be an idiot to think he'd screw the club on purpose. There's nothing about him to suggest he'd do something like that. He's just looking out for himself, which is what every football player in the world does.

It's a shame it has come to this. I really hope he finds a club before the window shuts.

I think that might all be circumstantial. We were happy for Richy to leave before his statement. Remember his statement was in reference to the failed move, that we were happy to sanction.

So I don't think he is suffering retribution from the club, I just think we want to get some money for him given that this is his last year.

The simplest answer is often the real one.

We also have to remember that our club is trying to change a problematic player culture.

Why is it OK for any member of RDZ's squad to just post this type of thing on their socials? Romero did it. Richi did it. Would it be healthy for van Hecke, Savio and Marmoush to undermine their new manager in this way and just start posting what they want?

Let's face it, any player that is bought into what RDZ is trying to achieve wouldn't even think about doing that. They would keep it all outgoing messaging positive and they would keep any grievance private between them and their manager. The clue is in the words "professional" footballer.

I hope RDZ is hardline on this stuff.

it takes player and club(s) to agree on any transfer.

the club doesn't do vendettas - logically, if the transfer price is too low, we might be better off just keeping richy as a backup or plan C. probably not something that richy figured when he rejected everton though.

Taking him off the squad list probably didn't do much for the club in terms of getting a bigger fee. Now, everybody knows it's a straight choice between paying him for not playing or accepting whatever offer is on the table. Hopefully, they did it because the talks with Trabzonspor are at an advanced stage.

That’s my take on it. No way he’s been left out of the squad because of spite. I’d imagine the deal is done and an announcement will be today

My mate's sister's partner Mehmet runs a Fez shop in Pelitli (not far from Trabzon) and he says that yesterday he had a Brazilian chap on the blower ordering two adult Fezzes and one for a one year old. Just saying...

This is the bit I don't understand. If Everton were offering lower wages WE need to do something to make it work.
Otherwise, we forego a very good signing (Ndiaye) AND miss the chance to effectively realize £35m for Richie....knowing that we are going to get nothing close to that and probably heading towards zero with every day that passes.
Eg. Sacrifice £5m to Richie, Everton, whoever to get the deal done. It's not hard to work out this is the situation you'll be left in if you don't.
