I don't necessarily disagree, but at the World Cup you'll see refs from all around the world that come from a much slower, lower standard of football but can make the step up. IMO it's just that they have a better framework from IFAB/FIFA than the Premier League refs do from PGMOL.
 
Hopefully the PGMOL follow suit before Arteta-ball ruins the EPL 🥱

Not for me. Our refs are arrogant idiots because the PGMOL selection process is designed that way. Fix the selection process that shortlists hundreds of refs working up and down the different levels of our football pyramid and we'll see some great refs. Once we actually start to see our best 15-20 referees selected properly and categorised as "elite", we'll see a change. Today's assessment process is wrong.

I do quite like the idea of the different country FA's working together and rotating referees into their different leagues though. Won't work with England because our FA has lost all empowerment to Sky TV who run the PL. Our FA don't even call the shots on referees anymore. Sky fund the PL who fund PGMOL and therefore we have this circus every week.
