Good list, though I'd raise a few counter points.Players that's I would happily keep
Kinsky
Danso
Spence (I'd liked to see him playing some games at RB)
Bergvall (young potential but needs development)
Gray (likewise with Bergvall although I think he's somewhat overrated on here already)
Simmons (just signed and injured)
Sarr (although the talk seems to be he might go, I'd keep him)
Gallagher (same player as Sarr so a bit repetitive but he's a new purchase so we aren't going to be selling him)
Odobert (always been a fan and he's development on the right is a surprising bonus)
Kudus
Maddison
Kulu
Souza (new buy, looks good)
Players that can stay but I wouldn't cry if they left
VDV and Romero as a pair. I think one of them needs to go. I don't believe in this pairing, it's been 3 years and it just doesn't imo. Both have fairly big flaws but I don't mind if either leave or even both. I also don't mind if one stays
Bentancur (good pro and occasionally has some inspired games but he's never really been the same since that Aston Villa injury. He should really be moved on but I wouldn't stress if it wasn't done this summer.
Porro (good pro, great work ethic, but I like my defenders to be able to defend)
Udogie.(injury prone and has massively regressed in his time here. A decision on his future needs to be made)
Tel (raw, I wouldn't be fazed if we sold him. There are better versions of him out there)
Palhinha (a good pro but I would ideally prefer Ederson or João Gomes)
Players who need to go
Vicario (initially very good. Fantastic close range reaction stopper. Very poor on long distance shots, terrible authority of his box on corners and his nervous energy transmits to the defenders and pretty awful on the ball)
Richarlison (it's Richarlison, nuff said)
Solanke (I was going to put one of them in the previous category to be realistic, but no I want both of them gone)
Bissouma (unreliable professionally and performance wise)
Davies (can't stay fit and in the role of experienced pro that's actually what you need)
Muani (hasn't worked out, not our problem)
Dragusin (unimpressive in pretty much every way)
I could very easily lose everyone in the 2nd category and fell no way but that's unrealistic so I've tried to breakdown in terms of priority moves. The assumption of course is that we actually bring new faces to replace the crud. Which can't always be guaranteed (B Johnson).
1. We can't sell both Richy and Solanke in one go - especially in a terrible striker market like this one where almost no one anywhere has broached twenty goals in the top leagues. To lose 15+ Premier League goals in one go with untested replacements is gambling, and given we finished two points above the drop, that's a big gamble to take.
One, definitely (and probably it'll be Richy given he's out of contract in 2027). But think the other only goes next year, if he goes at all.
2. Benta - he's probably the only player in that midfield that I would trust to reliably conduct a give and go. He's certainly not someone to build the team around, but it's just the way that midfield is right now that losing him would be disastrous to our ability to conduct play down the middle.
3. Sarr - honestly, think he's done. It's not that he's bad, it's just that he doesn't do anything several other players don't do as well. He carries the ball decently, but Bergvall does that too. He presses well, but Gallagher does that too. He's a much of a muchness, and I feel like this summer is a good time to part ways. Think he'll do well elsewhere.
4. VDV and Romero - of the two, I'd prefer losing Romero. He's a good piece to have in a top team, but that's ignoring that he's a liability when we're scrapping lower down (where we will likely be for a while), and PL refs now have it out for him and ref him differently to how they ref literally everyone else. Latter isn't his fault, it's just the way the corrupt PGMOL works. But they likely have run him out of the league.
5. Danso - I love the guy. Of all our players right now, him and Maddison are probably the only ones I hold a great degree of fondness for. But given his technical limitations, the question arises - if Vuskovic is coming back, and by all accounts the kid is a Saliba-level wonderkid - do we keep Danso, or do we sell him too and buy a more technically adept center-back (for example, Van Hecke) to rotate with Vuskovic?
