There's a difference between mistakes and stupid mistakes IMO and he does a lot of the latter that he was doing for us years ago and I'd hope he would cut out as he got older and matured. But I know when it comes to Romero there's no budging with you, it's all good :)....

He's our best player regardless of his mistakes and he gave a proper captains performance with some proper brickhousery :D.....

Some of what gets labeled as brain farts is imo him trying to be ambitious on the ball and then it fails. I much prefer that to players who don't try or aren't able to take responsibility on the ball and try to make something useful happen.

Can only speak for myself but the brain farts for me is when he switches off defensively, on the ball he is great and takes risks by trying to break the lines so of course that will not always come off.

He is in the next rung down from world class, but there is a dearth of world class talent in general these days and he is definitely in that top percentile of defenders. He is our best player - a fair bit better than VDV who gets more of the plaudits because of his pace and running with the ball and we certainly aren't going to get a better CB. So we should appreciate him for what he is, warts and all.....
