It’s interesting the captain discussion and the credentials etc.
Not many factored in just how much every single player wanted to win that trophy not just for themselves but for Sonny - as so many of them have mentioned in social media posts and interviews since.
There’s more than one way to inspire people.

It's the same old thing of their goals mattering because they led to something tangible. Until now Son hadn't won anything so despite scoring more his goals are really associated with any specific moments or achievements.
It's why it is important to win trophies to give your achievements weight. Happily Son now has that with us and can safely attain legend status for us. He's the world class or close to World class player that actually stayed here despite all the pressure to leave for greener pastures and stuck his neck out to actually win here.
Quite poetic that it has come towards the end of his effective playing career with us. I hope the win eases any pressure he might have felt to finally get one over the line

He's been playing whilst slightly injured a lot of the time, so it is hard to assess his pace. He still has moments where he looks fast.
Probably true of every player. They have a choice to either play whilst slightly injured, or sit it out. They put their body and reputation on the line, to play in the match, then we criticise them, whilst their team mates might sit it out.
