Archie Gray

Like he has destroyed Bergvall's development....
bergvall like kulusevski got their new positions under ange only when there were no other options left
bergvall and kulu are improving because of their tenacity and intiative - got nothing to do with coaching tactics or mechanisms, if they exist at all
bergvall, grey and even johnson will all get better with proper coaching. ange and his assistant coaches are inexperienced and poor at this level. they are not worthy to be coaching out excellent young ones.

gray was poor in midfield against palace
much better at right back after the subs
ange's doing and i don't think gray is happy with it

It interesting because we haven't really seen him at DM. He's clearly talented so we expect that he will do well there but there's a whole tactical and positional sophistication to the role that it can take some time to master the role.

I kind of feel it might make sense to get someone ready right now and then have Gray bubbling underneath learning the position but also sharing the starts.

It's hard to make a real judgement until we get a proper manager in that uses proper tactics.

His lack of mobility does worry me a bit. Hopefully it might improve as he gets older somehow. Obviously has some other fantastic traits for a youngster.

i know but we also see young players coming through in epl teams of comparable age and look like they know what they are doing.
grey has time but needs better coaching and more games in midfield. ange is not the one for him

He's been good at CB, most likely because he got a run of games there and was able to settle. Two games at DM with a totally changed team that isn't performing isn't enough of a sample to make a judgement. There's very very few 19 year olds that have played as many games this season as Gray.

Just having the right new manager coaching him (in that position )could be transformational.

He has the qualities, no doubt

yeah i know. and also our coaching sucks.

here's the good gray that we bought

N ail on the head, a lot of fans tend to think that the DM role is all about defending but there is far more to it then that. Most folks on here know that i have been banging on ALL season that we are really short of a player who has the talent, reading of the game and strong enough to command respect from the other CM players.

There are some who do not think it is a crucial posistion for us [ which of course is their right] but a lot of the mistakes being made by the defenders and other CMs is because we do not have player who can read the overall game. Now can Grey make that posistion his own will remain to be seen but i would rather we obtained one who has played there and has the experiance of doing so which will give Gray time to build on his game.

For me it has to be the crucial signing in the summer.
