Never understood the hate. He is in the same mould of TAA without the hype. Amazing with the ball at his feet, average without.
And his numbers are consistently competitive with TAA (Porro actually gets more assists IIRC)
Thought he'd have more goals this season. Not a criticism. Just thought he'd get more. Butvthen wasn't expecting us to go to crap in the league.
Not saying he couldn't, but I don't think it's as simple as some make out. The position he would get the ball would be more advanced and he'll have to run with it from a static position I don't think that's his strength and he doesn't beat a man.
When he receives the ball from deep he has more space to run into, and can play those long balls over the top which he wouldn't do from further up. Just like the suggestion of Romero as DM, they sound great in theory but in practice it's not as simple....
Oh GHod, now you've jinxed himPedro has played 48 games for us this season. Thank GHod for him.
No it was not a prediction. It was a fact.Oh GHod, now you've jinxed him
So facts 1, 2 and 3 what we would all like to happen, obviously. But if he can also achieve #4, that would be the icing on the cake (or the consolation if 1, 2 and 3 don't come to pass). Or just go straight to #4.No it was not a prediction. It was a fact.
Like he has never scored a goal for us in a final.
He has never lifted a trophy for us.
He has never won man of the match in a final.
He has never never kicked Bruno Fernandez in the nuts.
Spot on. It’s a very different game playing in midfield when you have to take the ball with your back to goal a lot or on the half turn. In defence, generally, the whole game is in front of you.Not saying he couldn't, but I don't think it's as simple as some make out. He played there when he was younger briefly and wasn’t good enough then (I assume)Spot on. It’s a very different game playing in midfield when you have to take the ball with your back to goal a lot or on the half turn. In defence, generally, the whole game is in front of you.
Not saying Porro couldn’t do it, I don’t know, but it’s far from certain.
