***OMT*** Tottenham...Thursday Night In Frankfurt

I think there would have to be an adjustment to Porro's game though. He just cannot keep declining the right time to cross the ball. It is so frustrating. I would love Ange to tell these guys to get the ball in. Porro misses that golden moment 9 times out of 10 and just passes short or comes back inside. He needs to attack with more purpose.

I think he has it in him though.

Do not disagree really, but some of the crosses he has put in over the last couple of seasons have been first class.

What you say is the frustrating part. We've had so many full-backs who can't cross the ball. Now we have one who can, he is declining the opportunity. I'm not sure it is all on him though.

Like you have said i have few times on here said Porro would be better placed as a attacking wide player [he is made for that posistion imo]. I like the look of that team as well and i do think we were the better team in the first game and deserved the win. IF we can play as well then i do think we can go through.
He started off as a RW but didn't quite make it there and got converted to WB (which often the case for them), it's why his attacking qualities are generally better than his defensive ones. He's actually still relatively new to the defensive role and I don't think he'd ever played RB in a flat back 4 before Ange.

I would start with this team....

Vicario

Spence Romero VDV Udogie

Porro Bergvall Bentancur Tel

Kulu

Solanke.

With Porro in front of Spence it should make our weak right hand side stronger defensively and Porro also offers great crosses into the box. Tel on the other side will provide more of a direct threat than Son does now and I like his attitude.

I think the above team would keep us in the game longer than Johnson and Son on each wing would....

We would also have a very strong bench where positive substitutions could be made whatever the state of the game....

I feel nervous even thinking and typing all this, and at 65 I should know better than to 'hope' , but hope I do.....

Come on you beautiful Spurs.... Don't let us all down.
That's a formation/ personnel I've wanted to try for a while. The only dilemma for me would be Tel or Odobert.

Was always a wing back as far as I’m aware

Our relatively poor run of PL form in the latter half of 2018-19 leading up to that CL semi-final

Is still nowhere near as dire as what we’ve endured over the past half of a season.

And I didn't fuxking say that, did I? But we didn't perform very well in the league, but were somehow progressing in a cup competition. Isn't that kind of similar? That was the fudging point!

Controversial opinion but in all honesty our 2019 Champions league run that season wasn’t that impressive performance wise either. Our league form was bad but the CL run glossed over that.

Only had 1 point after 3 group games, went to hell and back vs City and did f all in both Ajax legs until the second half of the second leg. Also decided not to show up to the final. We were pretty lucky that season and unfortunately we do not have that luck this season.

Hopefully we get a performance tonight otherwise May is just going to be outright torture especially if the scum end up getting to a CL final

Careful, don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.

I've always said 16/17 was the optimum of our club in recent times. That is when we were genuinely a good team.
