Buying a property - what would you do?

Have you seen the picture in the rightmove ad?.
Can you spell out your concerns, rather than cryptic responses (baring in mind I live 300m from the sea.)
I didn't really look at them too closely but I would certainly consider the ground level versus sea level in any purchase now. The temp charts are starting to go hockey stick, unfortunately.

All the properties he is looking at are 'near' the sea BUT due to the topography in that area many places are way above sea level.

You may wanna word with 'Arry though...his gaff at Sandbanks is definitely in the line of fire. (Or...er...water:))

Yes! Went for option 1 and had an offer accepted... so in the middle of conveyancing now and hoping to be in by the end of next month.

Just hoping that the next interest rate cut decision comes to fruition on the 8th May and I can get a re-price on the 2-yr fix.

The sellers of option 2 cancelled the viewing literally as I pulled up outside so never actually got to the see that one, but I did see one more, and option 1 still stood out as my favourite so I went for it.

To start with all I'll want to do is change the carpets in the bedrooms. The rest is pretty much ready to go. There are a couple of things I'll want to do in time but no rush. I'm basically moving of the previous marital home with nothing in terms of furniture so the first few weeks and months will be furnishing the place. It'll be an airbed on floor to start with :D

So, exciting, daunting, a new start, obviously mixed emotions but it's the only way forward and it'll be amazing to have my own space again. I've got so many ideas of how I want to decorate and furnish and really try to make it something that'll really be mine.

I might do some before and after pictures and post them when I'm done.

Thanks again everyone for all the advice and input... good to have people to bounce ideas off you know.

Yep, luckily it's set back by a good way and is high up as there's a cliff-drop down to the actual beach. It's close to the sea in the way you could run to the actual coastline on a 5k or something, but it's not right on the shore.

Really happy for you. Congrats on your new home.

Bet you can't wait for the leather reclining armchair and the 65 inch TV on the wall in time for the EL final.

Congratulations! Just had another look at the one you’re buying - it is lovely.

Welcome back to GHod’s county!

Nice work fella.

As I said previously I'm a sucker for period property and no.1 has all the grandeur and charm you could want. A proper grown-ups pad.

When you're there on your own and also working from home quite a bit, you want your environment to feel spacious and and almost a little inspiring. Home you can be proud of and actually enjoy just being there. You've still got some outside space to enjoy but I guess is not specifically your responsibility to look after?

Onwards and upwards mate!
