A forward pass in the centre of the pitch to a midfield player every now and again would be nice to see….

    Mason Melia

Indeed. Even him just training with our first team for the next 6 months would likely be great for his development.

I’m not sure how much more he learns continuing playing at that level mate. League 1 or 2 in England would be a good next step for him.

To play VDV at left back maybe? You always hold out these massive hopes for our really young players mate, rarely do they actually break into the team though. Vuskovic might make it at Spurs but still has a huge amount of work to do on his defensive game to be good enough to play for Spurs.

I think Udogie’s attacking contributions are better than Spence’s by a big margin, though a lot of that is how he gets himself into the box with well timed runs.

It’s not just the crossing, it is the overlapping on the outside, progressing the ball up the line with his left and even taking balls from Vicario, where he often has to come back inside towards trouble.

Who should be our competition/cover at right back….

I mentioned him as a decent option for us back in the summer…. If we do have the money for another Centre forward (I don’t think we do) then Porto’s Samu Aghehowa would be my choice. He is only 21 and still very raw but has the attributes to do well in the PL. suspect he’d cost close to £60m...

Did you really watch much of Brentford in the Championship?

5th place in the PL followed by a Europa League win…. I’d take that two year sequence forevermore…

Took pretty much this team (though including Son, but minus a whole bunch of signings made since) to a 5th placed PL finish having just lost Harry Kane (without him being replaced at all). That was some going. I don't expect Frank to get us as high as 5th place if he spends 3 years here...

Ideally he would go away on loan and play regularly somewhere. I don't see that happening though so we'll probably have to allow him to learn on the job and cope with the mistakes and bad situations he often puts us into with his (lack of) positioning and decision making.

Interestingly enough, in season two our pressing was less intense than in season one and more situational. Our metrics in that first part of the season were all better than the season before until we got that burst of horrible injuries.

I think Arsenal do a bit of everything. Yes they know how to win ugly but it isn't the only way that they win. Their first instinct in most games is to dominate the opposition, possession and play the game in the other team's half. In games against a team like Emirates Marketing Project they will instead look...

I think there has been a bit of hindsight revisionism here. IMO It was only really in the final and the second leg of the Frankfurt qtr final when we did this.... and on both occasions we only really did it after we went 1 goal up.
