    I have always been an advocate of feeder clubs, though I think restrictions would have to be put on those, perhaps that they cannot climb higher than league 1, cannot play more than 3 players over 23 and cannot include more than 2 overseas players.

    That is because he is not yet good enough. There is a world of difference between age group football and men’s football. Lankshear still has lots of improving to do. Championship is still at least one level too high for him IMO.

    We can barely even manage the one off under ENIC, so if we actually happen to win a big trophy this year then the manager that helps us win it should at least get the chance to see whether he can turn it into sustained success.

    See my post above. The £30m drop in PL prize money will be covered by our additional European revenue this season (we did not have that last season)

    But we’ve had European football? The revenue from Europe this season will make up for the lost PL prize money. Next season we may not have Europe but, if we don’t, then our PL finish is likely to improve considerably and again revenue will be similar.

    All of those clubs are traditionally much smaller than Spurs. They all overachieved massively in winning trophies, something we have failed to do (possibly because our head honcho puts the asset valuation over trophies)

    My statement was that the money from the cup runs this season would likely make up for the reduced PL prize money this season.

    Last year, we finished 5th but had no European football and no cup runs. I suspect the money from our runs in the Europa league and league cup will make up much of the lost prize money revenue from the much lower PL finish.
