What would you do...

If you saw a few guys kicking in a phone box? One kicked the phone hard and probably damaged the phone. I would have said or done something but let's behonest, if it was me against three other guys; if it was three guys against any one person, then it seems a fight which is pointless to start because you know you will only end up on the end of a hiding. So what should you do? I don't like just standing back and doing nothing but aargh..

and apparently it was only over a matter of 40p! I mean FFS!! 40p! Shows the mentality of some individuals these days that they would trash property over a assumedly swallowed up 40p.

Last night a guy got out of his car and took a tinkle outside my house. I was having a cigarette outside and he didnt see me. So I took my phone out - took a picture of him taking a leak and also took his car number plate. By the time he realised I took the photo it was late (the flash gave away the fact I was taking a photo)

I will be sending this to the police on monday - why? COS THE GUY TOOK A fudgeIN LEAK OUTSIDE MY HOUSE. clam.

If it's property, never try to be a hero. You're only going to end up the same way as that phone box. It's just not worth it - terribly sad that that's the world we live in.

If it's a human then I would grab the nearest weapon and have it out with them.

Take a picture, send it to the police

This.

My hubby was driving the car when it snowed, anyway on this blind corner we went round there was like 5 or 6 youths waiting on the payment the other side of said corner, they all threw snowballs. Husband broke sharpely cos he didn't know what happend (just heard thud noises against the car), car behind went right up our arse, and another behind them, slided missing the car that hit us. Unfortunatley that car went on to slide into one of the Youths and knocked him flying.

I dunno, am I sorry he got injured... nope, we had our two kids in the back. At least my husband didn't have to get out the car and confront them.

When me and my mates were kids we realised that you could phone directory enquiries and give them another phone box asking for reverse charges and they would put it through! BT didn't even check whose number you were calling (theirs!).

One of us also found if you gave the area below the keys a whack it would return the coin you put in but leave your credit, we were bored and didn't think that we were vandalising stuff, BT should have employed us as R&D!

Not big or clever, but the sort of thing bored youth will do.

I've never understood these so called people who love smashing the glass on phoneboxes and bus stops? WTF?? You attempt to break the glass - it breaks, what else do you expect to see?

Phone boxes still have to exist, if for nothing else then for use in emergency. If you were caught out of your house, either you had left your mobile behind or the battery had gone flat, and you realised you needed to make important call. How would you do it were there not still payphones about?

I do wonder though how long they will keep existing whilst members of the public think it appropriate to destroy them.

Theyre also for tourists. You dont really see them in the outskirts of London (although there are a couple) but in London there are loads. There are also loads that are unused and kinda rotten (fudgein weeds growing inside them etc) with pictures of naked women and sex lines.

There are people too who may come from abroad and not use their mobile phones (due to rates) - they may need phoneboxes too.

I'm sure a lot of young or elderley people don't always have mobiles too.

And where are these poor chaps going to plant their sex-line cards??

Oh and where are drunks going to urinate (apart from outside DHSF's house)

A few years ago I was walking through a retail park after a night out. Every night, you'd see boy racers parked up there but that night some of the lads were going round the car park shaking lamposts til they eventually snapped. I rang the local police station and told them what was going on and then I waited at the edge of the car park to see if the police would turn up. Didn't even take five minutes for the boys in blue to turn up and I took great delight in watching the little sh*ts getting rounded up. As one of the previous posters said, what's the point? Try and break something, break it. Well done! C*nts

There was a show on a similar subject a couple of years ago.

Two examples were a fella being kicked the brick out of by 2 men, while he was unconscious on the ground and a girl being attacked on a crowded bus and her head jumped on by other girls.

Some old fella out with his wife saw the first incident and went over to yell at the men, the men scarpered and this old fella probably saved his life. It was late at night and this older fella really put his own safety at risk.

Nobody on the crowded bus did anything to help the girl. Sickening really.

I like to think I'd do something. I really don't know though, especially if it involves putting my own safety on the line.

Pretty much this, not worth it for the sake of property but you may as well give it a go if it's a person.

Sure you're probably endangering yourself but if you didn't do anything then found out that the person you could have helped had been seriously injured/killed I don't think I could handle it.

A couple of years ago a mate of mine was walking home at night and saw someone being attacked in a bus shelter. He went over to try to stop it and got a beating from the attacker, and then the victim started on him too! It's an odd world... Fortunately he got away with not too much damage.

Unless it's a mate or a loved one I don't get involved.

Although a bird was getting big time grief once from her fella and I asked a guy I was with if he was up for intervening, we went over and offered the girl a lift home if she wanted one, and she accepted.

The bloke was aggressive and I thought he might kick off but because there were 2 of us he backed off.

I got a text from the girl the next day saying he asked her to tell me he was sorry for being a taco and appreciated us looking out for his bird!!

I'd step in with my tried and tested fighting tactics of shouting "Please don't damage my face, and don't get any blood on my clothes"

That'd teach the fudgers.

Hmm. It's a strange one, maybe your mate was interupting a fight club-esque organised stressbuster brawl without realising...
