So Chris Kavanagh is an "elite" referee. He watches Cole Palmer commit violent conduct towards Fernandez and hasn't got the bollox to issue the red card. He can use VAR, head over to the screen and get a proper second look at it, and upgrade his yellow to a red. Not that was really needed but he allows Palmer to carry on with just a yellow. Then rinse and repeat happens a few mins later where VAR doesn't get the on pitch ref to review a second incident where it is also a red card offence.
Michael Salisbury, also an elite referee sees an incident where a full blooded tackle was made and Dowman reacts by doing pretty much the same thing as Palmer did. To be fair, I can see why the kid might have got it wrong and over-reacted in the heat of the moment. However, the ref working without VAR has no hesitation and pulls out the red card for violent conduct. He gets it spot on.
How can 2 of PGMOL's officials work on the same team and operate so differently? Clearly, the PGMOL team had their weekly meeting and there was absolutely no doubt the next time it happened that the outcome would be different.

Me too! Saw Fleetwood 1-0 ahead at half time, and didn't dare turn on the telly to watch!
And the started Timber, Mosquera, Hincapie, Lewis-Skelly (the GOAT), Zubimendi, Havertz, Dowman (the even bigger GOAT) and Gyökeres, and subbed on Ødegaard, White, Eze, Konsa and Guimares!

I don't think he should have acted so publicly, he's right to be angry with an player getting sent off for ill discipline. It appears to me they are handling his development well and being told early in your career what's not acceptable is the right thing to do. They have enough aresholes in their team as it is.

I've been less than gracious with the Woolwich fans I know. Think the winning penalty had barely hit the back of the net before I had Whatsapp open. One of them is my son's coach who doesn't take it too well. Looks like my young fella could be warming the bench for the next month or two.

I was watching the shootout with my son. Loved it when Bruno missed, could see that coming with his stutter.
I was then actually shocked after the celebrations after what turned out to be the final Fleetwood penalty; i thought Arsenal had another one to take! Made it even sweeter haha!!

I didn’t watch as I have a terrible record that they never lose if I do. Think I’ll keep that up the rest of the season!
