I’m envisioning them having to play Saturday mornings on Bolton car parks against (other) pub teams, no tickets needed, how many of their fans will turn up then?

Some did, although I think that’s been overblown, I saw them play Colchester United in what was probably Division 2 at the time, they didn’t bring any more away fans than usual at that level and the away section certainly wasn’t full.

If the PL had any balls it woukdcreopen the case against Chelski. Those 5 seasons we missed out on Champs league with bricky in the top 4, i bet withiut looking it up Cheating cnuts Chelski qualified too.
 
The way I look at this. Do I want their titles stripped? no. That would give the Scum more titles etc. So going backwards should be left for money compensation to all teams that lost out on titles or trophies because of this.

But. They need to be punished going forward. A heavy points deduction to secure relegation and a transfer ban for two years. And Uefa should ban them from european qualification on their next two qualifications. Not the next two years.

You can strip the titles without awarding them to anyone else.
Pulis is talking about Stoke's FA Cup Final but who did City beat to get there who may have beaten Stoke in the final? there are too many imponderables to say just finalists or runners-up get promoted so strip the titles and just leave it blank in the records for those years.

Needs to be more than a 2 year ban for it to mean anything. They need to be financially inconvenienced for the next decade.

Yes you make a fair point, I’m just fed up with the lip service paid to fans which is OTT, all clubs claim it, but it’s just not true, very few fans are that committed.

Stripping titles doesn't mean give them to someone else. Leave it as no winners. Then in 50 years time. Kids can ask their grandparents why there were no winners those years. They would be told because city are cheaters.

I expect a large points deduction that relegates them, what's more interesting is whether the owners fail the fit and proper test which they should then I guess they'd have to sell and all of this would have knock on effects to sponsors if all the Abi Dhabi companies cease their deals with the owners out. A lot of politics involved as well with the ruling family being the owners, there's already been some stories that they've been threatening trade.

....so you would then be finding someone guilty of corruption, but allowing their punishment to be dictated by further corruption?

It is as @Kandi1977 said, immeasurable damage.

Think about it just from a Spurs perspective, if City and Chelsea were stripped of their titles, we would have 3 more trophies in last decade or so. That completely rewrites the story/success of that era for us. and that's just affecting where we actually got 2nd or to a final against these clubs. It doesn't count players/staff poached or players/staff not gotten because these clubs broke rules/money doped the game so badly.

And beyond training fans that "ambitious" owners were here just to through money at the game, and clubs trying to do it within the rules were cheap/money grubbing/idiots, the media is entirely complicit, the constant lavish praise on Chelsea and City despite knowing exactly what was happening is outrageous.

It’s more fool them.

It seems to me their pain point is damage to their reputation. They should be embarking on damage limitation at this point because they still have scope to make things much worse.

This is why solely using trophies as a measure of success is foolish.
 
I think the most appropriate punishment would be a points deduction that is spread out over multiple seasons. 20pts over 9 seasons that the charges cover. Effectivley putting them in to a position that they would not have been in without the cheating.

Average position with a 20pt deduction in the seasons for the charges would be 8th.

I think that a good proposal, I would add exclusion from being candidate for European competitions, playing in CL seems the aim of all players and that would limit who would be prepared to join them.
