I'm staggered no leader in the UK or elsewhere has shown some guts and come out to say how stupid the Iran situation is, on the brink of causing a global meltdown and no one says anything. Too scared to offend him, wonder who will step up first. Probably waiting for the lame duck period when he loses the mid terms.

Just popped in to say these are the bleakest times I remember...it is a trudge these days...no real discussions, everyone polarized, outlets of discussion turned into battlegrounds where instant judgements and reactions are the only way, global leaders genuinely bringing us to sketchier places daily, thousands of innocent people being murdered everyday everywhere (their one similarity being they are poor and brown/black, innocent pawns in the sick games of unqualified dictators and billionaires)...fudge me...

Anyway...sigh...

p.s. I did run in to the REAL POTUS on a flight home yesterday...President Camacho (Terry Crews) from Idiocracy!!! A legend!

At least we’ve got Spurs to cheer us up… 😃

I’m trying to take comfort in the fact that, politically, the 80s were incredibly bleak…but then things mostly turned around for a long old stretch.

I do think nothing can begin to move forward until the orange sex pest is out of office; I’m not convinced he’s going to go easily, though.

Farage has changed many times, he initially said "we must back our American partners" recently he said something about the talk of bombing ill advised. I am not sure he has fully called out that it is totally wrong, but he is so contrary he may have done and I missed it

The next two years are already settled for bleakness mate, the Iran situation is now embedded into our economy for the foreseeable. Trumps killed our economy.

That's exactly why our leaders (and others) should be calling it out, tanking the global economy for the ego of one man is ridiculous and needs more attention. Even the media here haven't run any big stories, it's not even front page news anymore.

It even says in the tweet that privately the govt is annoyed but too scared to say anything for fear of them stopping supplying Patriot missiles to Ukraine. But if the war finished today then in a few months things would look a lot better and which would help everyone (including European countries being in a better position to provide aid to Ukraine and not being so dependent on the US).

Didn’t get the criticism of Starmer; he was dealing with a s hitshow. Only difference now is the new bloke can play Rusholme Ruffians (badly) on guitar. Can’t see that averting WW3.

I see Rupert Lowe is complaining that a Restore complainer was attacked today when leafleting in Camden. That’s totally wrong, no justification for violence at all. And if the victim has ended up in hospital with burns then I hope the perpetrator is arrested and goes through the judicial system and is dealt wi th appropriately. No excuse.
But shirley there has to be a moment of self-questioning in that if you spend day in and day out stoking up hatred and division, at some point you risk it coming back at you?

There also have to be some unified message IMO that transcends politics. All parties, all sides of the divide are experiencing violence and attacks, it needs to end.
