Djed Spence

Not sure I see people wanting him gone. I do think some fans understand the quid-pro-quo thing though. The player’s stock is high. The player himself may be loose in the saddle for not playing his preferred position. The club are striving to massively improve the forward line.

Put that all together and the club and player might need to part ways.
I have no issue with the player maybe wanting to try out a new situation. I'm more talking about some on here who are actively wanting to sell him and whom seem to think that Porro is actually bullet proof. They aren't suggesting him for the same reasons you are, they are thinking about pure profit which is fine but we would need to replace him so a sale wouldn't realise as much profit as they are hoping for.

Perhaps I've been in the detail as you have. I didn't get the impression people were ever do keen on him going for football reasons. It was so we could strengthen the forward line.

Saying that, I did see some Neco Williams comparisons at one point and some fans advocating for us to replace him with the Welsh RB.

I saw a price of £25m for him. That can’t be right. Who can we get as back up full back for that price that is anywhere close to being as good or versatile as Spence?!

There's nothing about Archie which makes him good for the RB position. While Djed can comfortably play RB, LB and decently at RW.

Wanting to sell Djed coz we have Archie as back up isn't rational. It's fukin stupid. I hope the club or anyone who knows ball doesn't listen to rob

What do you want me to tell them next?

To be fair the comment was: Inter believe price can be under €40m. I also believe I should receive a million quid... does not mean I am going to get it....

This is different from the likes of Romero or Solomon who were clearly surplus to requirements.. selling Spence for anything other than a massive fee make no sense to the club and I hope and trust the top dogs understand this...

The question is Spence, not the club.

I don't think the club has any desire to sell Spence, however it seems likely Spence (26 and probably at his highest profile) wants to be a starter in his favored position (he won't replace Porro for us). Add in, RDZ has clearly stated, if you don't want to be here, you can go.

I don't see us selling him for a low price in the PL, but 35M-40M to Europe, we might just agree to move on, use the money elsewhere

Transfer rumours regarding Spence started back in June before the World Cup, something has happened at the club that we are not party too regardless of RDZ saying he wants to keep him.

£25M does seem very low. But no prem club being prepared to pay £30M+ does tell you how he is viewed.

Or about the options open to him and his preference being abroad from those. I suspect he wants CL football and those clubs in the PL are fine at RB. No point him going to a PL club who pay 45m if they are mid table dross just because they can afford the fee.

He will be a star turn in the CL next year for someone, Inter will be a very good home for him

If >insert mid table prem club< we’re prepared to pay £35M for him Spurs would not accept a £25M bid from Inter.

Would be gutted if we sell him, because I love his story, his perseverance, his attitude, his personality shining through more, his character with England.

But I get it if he wants to leave and doesn’t want to play back up to Porro in a season with no Europe.

My question then is, who do we sign to replace him? Who is willing to come in and play back up to Porro? Because we know full well that we sell Djed and Porro is absolutely getting injured. Gray at right back is surely not enough cover.

If you are not 100% in, RDZ wont want you around.

This is not a dig a Spence, as he will want 1st team football, something he is not guaranteed at Spurs

I think RDZ likes him from comments, but its about him wanting games, at 26 you can understand why that is TBH, he isn't going to get RB and despite the whole LB thing he was never that before and I suspect the hybrid thing doesn't work for him long term. I think its alot for people to expect someone who sees themselves as a career RB to stick around to maybe play LB hahaa.

All in all we will reinvest you hope and we get another talent in who is happy with the terms and move up in club
