Djed Spence

that tackle was a VDV special, looked amazing, but only happened because of a monumental fudge up in positioning in the first place

you don't get credit for a recovery tackle when you failed to close the passing lane to start with imo
I think you need to watch it again...and retract your nonsense

Argentina has passed it around our midfield and fed it thru to the forward who looked like he was in the clear...Djed moved in to snuff that out, as that where the imminent danger was.
Basically, just like the other game, left to do two jobs defending against two men.

To have a player physically capable of doing this is a bonus to any team.

Yeah Djed had to decide to force the other player to make the pass so moved in to cover the space and then he knew he had the pace to to make the LesleyRobben2026 version happen.

Slight upgrade on Everton :)

If Spence is going have to think that there are plans for an incoming full back.
I’m sure they will do their best to convince him joining the Serie A champions and living in Milan is not a patch on Everton and Merseyside lol

Talk is of Neco Williams from Forest coming in as replacement

I thought it was as good as Ledleys tackle but on second thoughts probably not, as the difference is Robben was rapid and Ledley caught him...I don't think Simeone is (plus he's not very good) :)

I haven't read much of this thread recently, but why are we considering selling him? He's growing into a monster
I’m probably in a minority and though I like him it might be a good time to sell. He’s been here several years and been decent but not anything special. If he stays then it would appear he’s back-up for Porro - given that we brought in Robertson (who I didn’t particularly want) for left back cover. We’ll never get a better price for him and we could use the funds to improve the starting lineup further up the field.
