This is based on “football inflation” meaning average revenue form Premierleague teams in 2026 vs when the transfer was made. Worth noting Gazza would be our biggest ever transfer based on this metric although it pre dates the Prem.

Massive signing. Not just what he brings, but the statement it sends.
Where there are good players and better wages it makes it easier to get targets. People start believing what they see not what they are told.

There is probably no dressing room set of players in the Uk or around the world currently discussing what spurs are doing transfer wise so far.

Statement plus it's not just him, fixed defense, fixed midfield and added statement signing

Of course this ^ is on paper. Need to let the team settle, make mistakes, learn and develop.

We also have such uncertainty in attack. Squad attacking players like Tel, Bergval, Solomon etc are they good enough? Probably not to start games. Then we have higher quality attacking players but they have question marks over their fitness: Maddison, Kulu, Xavi, Odobert, Richarlison. If we sign attacking talents, it is a lot of new players that need to settle, find their dynamic, coordination, partnerships and confidence. Its early days. The expectations will be high, but we are not fixed yet. Just day one.

And with that the targets should get better and easier to do. People wanna be part of revolutions in football, be part of whats going on.
