Reminds me of how my mum said she was treated after arriving from West Indies 60 years ago, back when even being in her nurses uniform was no guarantee that National Front wouldn’t chase her through the streets and some patients would refuse treatment from non-white nurses and doctors… looks like Elon has helped Nigel and Tommy bring about a return to those good olde days in the UK.

I haven't looked. I'm not gonna. It sours my mood. And the fact they aren't all bots is the tragic part.

I don't look at X other than via links here, not on Bluesky, grudgingly see Threads sometimes but don't follow it. Only FB and Instagram and even those can be too much often and I largely stick to sport, music and animals.

That is just horrific.

I suspect the adoption agencies are completely under funded and have no way of truly vetting who is applying for adoption. But the level of planning and manipulation from these two men is pure evil.

I haven't read the full story, can't really bring myself to, but I imagine when you are that sick in the head, that anything is possible to get through the loops, as you say, with planning. Also as a teacher, you probably looks a comfortable match to a level

This is why I'm not against the government having a greater ability to surveil. Almost no chance knowing the internet history of these two would not have meant they were flagged.

It’s just, you know this brick happens, but just looking at the photo of that cute little kid at 13 months old - they’re so sweet and helpless - to not want to take the utmost care of that little boy, but rather do the exact opposite. It boggles the mind. What is going on in these people’s heads? To repeatedly over the course of months subject this sweet little kid to that kind of abuse. I just can’t grasp it. I firmly believe the world is deterministic, and people don’t choose to be evil - so what has driven these people to this? They must’ve been subjected to abuse themselves, surely - yet still, how does that desensitize your brain to think treating a little baby like this ok? A fudging dark mystery.

Yeah, it must be absolutely horrible. I wouldn’t have done it for all the money in the world.
