Yes, indeed. I don’t want these fly-by-night people anywhere near our club.

Re: the Lewis kids aka “nepo babies”, they need to be given time to see their impact on us.

They only really took control after the season had already started, and their guy, VV, was allowed to be in charge of the whole operation. By that time, our manager, DoF and squad were already in place. He inherited what sounds like an uncoordinated mess, including a second DoF who was one foot in, one foot out.

I would assume that he allowed his DoF to make the footballing decisions, as he should, which included the timing of the TF sacking. It would make a lot of sense if JL waited as long as he did since TF was essentially his “guy” and firing him would make him look bad more than anyone else. Further, you could probably blame JL for the Tudor hire too, with VV giving his DoF a chance to rectify his initial mistake (TF).

Anyways, all of that is conjecture but the point I’m trying to make is that the Lewis kids haven’t had much of a chance to really show their impact on the club yet. The boat had already left the port when they took over. This summer will be the first true test of their management. If the choice is to get rid of them for a dodgy VC fund just because they grew up rich, then some serious soul-searching needs to be done imo.

I thought Levy's share of ENIC was held in a Trust....and that's registered in Gibraltar

Not so sure.

Charrington joined in march 2025 and Vinai V was announced in April 2025.
Both obviously Lewis appointments.
An indication that they were rejigging the leadership of the club. 100% in their minds ousting DL would be part of that.

So there was no 'shock' for them, they were driving their plan from at least those moments forward. If they came up short or stuck by certain employees, that's on them.

But DL was still running the business so VV didn’t have full say at all. As we all know, DL was required to sign off on just about everything, including the hiring of TF and the players in and out. If DL had gone at the end of the 24/25 season, would VV had been able to get the Eze deal over the line for example? Plus I don’t believe TF and JL had the cajones or big club experience to push for the wholesale changes we needed. They were allowed to tinker when we needed a refresh and it was ultimately DL who signed off on that, not VV or the Lewis’s.

My instincts tell me that after the hiring of VV, DL was lining himself up to move into a Chairman position and to leave the day-to-day running of the club to VV. However, once VV had been able to get a good look at how the club was operating and make some suggestions on changes, DL pushed back forcing the Lewis’s to choose between their guy, VV, and the incumbent who in their eyes had taken the club as far as he was able to. They made the move to ouster DL and the rest is history.

So this is their first real chance to make the changes to the playing side of the club without any interference. Early signs are that they are making some smart moves but only time will tell.
