Luka Vuskovic

If he goes out on loan again then we are fudging idiots.

Only a true statement if he gets to play, which only happens if we sell one of Romero/VDV.

While I rate the kid (who doesn't), zero use him coming to spend a season at Spurs as 4th choice when he could spend a season in a top league playing every game. He's 19, we could wait another year without issue.

But as I said, it would be based on our current two first choice CBs staying, and Vuskovic needs to sign a new contract (up his pay, but extend)

Even if he’s 4th choice he will get game time. And likely more game time than we would expect.

And if he can play to the levels that he’s already shown then he moves up that list of 4.

Plus the 4 assumes that Romero or VDV are leaving anyway given that by all accounts we have Senesi joining imminently.

But why, why have the kid play 7 games when he could play 40?

The other thing people miss with loans is Vuskovic at a smaller club will be relied on, he'll be seen as one of the main men, he'll be needed. To often youth players in big clubs get away with "hey, if the team needs someone to step up, that's on the senior players not me"

If we don't expect him to be owning a starting spot (especially with no Europe), his development will benefit from more games vs. sitting on a bench at 19.

The Goons ended up loaning out Saliba for a second season which a lot of fans weren't happy with and ended up being the right thing to do....

If he’s good enough he will become a starter for us anyway? So then he will play a lot more than 7 matches. Even if he only played in the cups for us then that’s likely 4 or 5 matches minimum unless we get a tough draw. So add 7-10 matches in the league and he could play as many as 12-15 matches for us next season.

He will be our best defender.

If Vuskovic was a Hamburg player he would be getting signed by an elite European club this summer for £60M+ and would go straight into their team.

But at Spurs he will only get half a dozen games because of Kevin Danso 🤣

Think you need to calm down. How many 90 minute matches in the PL have you seen him in? Oh yes, none.

I've seen a handful of Vuskovic games in the Bundesliga and there is no doubt he's a big talent. But the demands of that league are different and nowhere near as intense - Danso could go to that league and be a boss, from what I've seen it's not that clear cut he would start our games therefore another loan at his stage where he's playing every week is perfect....

Article today says he will sign a new deal and go back to Hamburg for another season. Hard to believe RDZ wouldnt want to see him close up first though

I'm sure he will spend some of pre-season with us

Sometimes it's protecting the player, English media and Spurs fans (we need to look at ourselves hard here), if he came at 19 with one senior top league season and made a few mistakes, people would be all over his back.

Loyalty sometimes pays off, see what we did with Son. If the kid has one shot at playing with his brother, he's 19 (so we have another 13 years of him if wanted), another season of 40+ games will only have him develop, if we give him that, perhaps he'll be more inclined to stay with us when the big boys come knocking (if he's what everyone thinks he is)

What makes most sense is utilising his wish to play with his brother in Hamburg to get him into a new 5, maybe 6, year contract extension. Otherwise we are looking a two years tops, before we would be thinking of having to sell...

Where does this even come from. He was prepared to stay at Spurs this past season and it was only because knobhead Thomas Frank said he wouldn't play that he went out on loan the final day of the window.

Danso was playing in Ligue1 before he came to Spurs, a lower league than Bundesliga, and he was not bossing it. Our competition to sign him was Wolves.

I like Danso. No issue with him starting games for us. But to suggest Vuskovic wont get game time in 26/27 season because of him is absolute madness.
