I remember people asking what the Epstein Class was. This is a perfect example. Rich beyond reason. Linked to Epstein. Hates poor people.

Amazing that it’s barely got a mention in the media. When Starmer got some free glasses and a couple of dresses for his wife it was as if it was the last days of Sodom and Gomorrah. 🙄
I know it's not the point you are trying to make mate but I never understood why any politician take personal freebies. I have worked in one form or another for the state for most of my working life and never expected or accepted any gifts. I was taught that there doesn't have to be actual bias, the perception of bias is bad enough.

Big gains for Reform in the local elections then by the look of it, shouldn’t really be surprised but I can’t lie, I am still amazed at people’s willingness to ruin their own country.

I genuinely question if the racism from the last 30-40 years ever actually went away in any way or if it simply just went quiet for a while. They will legitimately ruin this country because they have zero idea how to govern outside of blaming non white people for society’s problems, and lining their pockets.

Clearly just sitting dormant. Twitter is just full of open racism in the form of "free speech" so its just spread again like wild fire.

I don't think this is a bad thing though, reform have shown so far they can't run a tap locally, let alone a council, so maybe this is needed for people to realise they have no substance before the next election

I just question if it matters. A lot of people seem to think that the local elections and the GE are basically the same.

I reckon if you ask people why they have voted for reform locally they will still talk about “small boats” and how they prefer the look of the new roundabouts. I don’t think they realise that local issues aren’t always really affected by those overriding government policies. The confusion they’re going to have when their council tax gets hiked and there’s less money to spend at Weatherspoons is going to sting.

Round here there was only one leaflet that came thorough the door where the person campaigning actually spoke about a few local sites, pot holes, and a local primary school that needs funding. Reforms was the usual and all the others were basically just saying “we aren’t reform”. Politics in this country is in a brick state and its letting racism and division back in.

My only hope is when Reform get in fully they stick to their whole “if you don’t like it here, leave” rhetoric and pay for a nice island somewhere for us to go and live on and pay more attention to people than flags. They can stay here and paint roundabouts and tie Union Jacks to lampposts.

The media should shoulder a fair portion of the blame. You can see the concerted attacks on the greens versus the soft treatment reform get across MSM. It is fairly obvious where the right-wing owners of the UK papers want the vote to land.

I am not a Green fan, I don't have a candidate of note near me, but this guys summary is so so good and spot on

You have to be careful hanging your hat on 'experience' being enough to make people have a lightbulb moment.

Trumps running of America is a brick show but the base holds strong.

Simple messaging resonates (I wonder why?)

Yeh maybe wishful thinking

It is clear that people are voting like its football and just because, voting for reform like its a badge and on a top line mandate on immigration (ala the video). So be it I suppose, as with Trump people will see if they have any substance or if their wallets continue to be hit under them in future with nothing being done about Immigrants. They won't change immigration in this country anymore than the Tories did with the "we will stop the boats"

Labour are a brick show, no doubt, voting for a party made up of old Tory failures is also fudging odd, but is what it is

My only issue is that it let's the major parties off the hook, we do need a competent opposition or this brick show will just keep getting worse.
Reform is in no way the answer, but can we honestly say any of the others are.

No I agree, I think we can call reform what they are whilst also blaming Labour and the Tories for allowing it to happen by being totally sh1t. Labour need to oust Starmer, take a year of pain then spend the last two before the GE getting confidence back, they won't do that but they should IMO

Big gains in a sense; however, Reform are down from 41% of the vote in local elections they contested last year to 33% in yesterday's elections. That is quite a significant drop, and suggests that as people see Reform in power they are not always keen on them (e.g promises of no council tax rises actually metamorphising into Reform-led council rises of 9%).

Also, the turnout yesterday was 43%. It is likely to be at least 60% in a GE; local elections are always a chance to kick the governing party and those motivated to vote largely want to do that.

That said, I don't think Labour have a chance at the next GE unless Starmer (who I personally think has done a decent job, but has communicated terribly what the party have done) goes.

Farage wrote this playbook with his initial Brexit run. He continues to run the same plays, adding a little more here and there but essentially grifting and acting his way to 'success'. Society is immersed in what's wrong with others rather than taking responsibility, and Farage has grifted a career telling everyone what others aren't doing 'right' without actually doing anything of note for working people policy-wise himself. No working class person is better off for anything Nigel Farage has 'done'. He is the grift that keeps on grifting. It's actually an extraordinary achievement if you can look at dispassionately...
