***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa, Sun May 3rd, 7pm, Villa Park ***

If we escape the drop. We know how this goes. He wants players and will get 17yr old instead. He eventually flips and gets the sack.
And if these 2 clowns are still here come June. I shall for one will start protesting. And I don't leave my house .....that's how mad I will be

They bent over to get him, there is zero chance he didn't negotiate say or some guidelines re transfers. And if he rescues us, and he walks because the club did some shenanigans, it will be ugly. Also based on the last two seasons, they will pump some money in to ensure it isn't a 3rd season of brick.

We won the highest number for turnovers of any side this season in a game today apparently
That's cos they were for once not waiting to see what the other team did first. Need to this 3 more times.
Don't wanna get carried away but we could get a point at chels.
And if we can stop the last min conceding....that will also help. One step at a time

Let's hope so. But I have less faith in the board getting a clue if we do stay up with getting the right people in.

I would like to think this brickshow scares them so much and the money they will lose, they won't be this thick again.

But I think they will have LEARNT NOTHING

Woah woah woah.

If we by chance manage to stay up, let's not fall into the trap that this squad doesn't need a major overhaul

I think our key players returning from injury is a big part of the overhaul that we need. Imagine that last night we had had Kulusevski, Maddison, Kudus, Simons and Romero all fit. Would have slaughtered Villa.

We need to identify why it is that we suffer so many injuries. We need to be proactive in taking steps to ensure that it doesn’t happen for a fourth season in a row. We need to follow up our stadium and training facilities with a next level medical rehabilitation centre and staff. Whatever has happened these last few seasons CANNOT be repeated.

Then we do need signings but I don’t think it’s as drastic as to say major overhaul IF we can return to a fit squad. We do need some activity. I think we need to look at signing a striker that can score 20+ a season. I think we need to identify if Tel is the answer on the left. We will need to replace Vicario.

Fantastic to get the win and move out of the relegation zone.

Thought the performance was really good given the surrounding context/circumstances. Villa were poor, particularly in the first half, but we made the most of it and made it difficult for them.

Players showed great intensity and desire, but also composure and patience. We obviously struggled a bit more in the last 20 or so minutes, but that's to be expected I think.

Well done all around.

I don’t think we made the most of Villa being poor. I think Villa were so poor because of how we played.

The effort and intensity first half was out of this world. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a Spurs side fight quite like that before. We pretty much won every 50:50. Even second half, I see Gallagher running full pelt in the 95th minute, I see Richi defending in the left back position during open play.

Whatever happens, I think it dispels any myth that these boys don’t care. 3 more times lads.

We need some upgrades in specific areas for sure. But at the same we have a lot of very good international footballers who a lot of people on here chose to talk down rather than accept the misgivings of the manager.

Even with all our injuries we have Gray, Bergvall and Maddison sitting on our bench, the squad is not a bad one by any stretch. The biggest thing to sort out was getting the right coach in charge, we've done that. The next thing is to get to the bottom of what the fudging hell is going on with our injury situation. And then yes, we need to upgrade some personnel too....

It should be plain to all that the owners of this club are, always have been, and always will be flaming clams.

One look across North London shows you what they sacrificed at the altar of their personal wealth.

For all the stick that Lange & Vinai have had recently - if people want to start giving the players a pass if we stay up then they are just as bad and will have learned nothing. MAJOR overhaul on and off the pitch is required if we want to move forwards.

It will take more than one season of top quality recruitment unfortunately. Maybe I’m playing it simple but I look at other top 6 teams and look at our squad in comparison and think which players we have could potentially play for them. I can’t say that we have any currently.

We need to recruit ever so well. We have addressed the players with potential in the squad but now we need to get some real quality borderline elite players or hungry players with great work rate and ability.

All easier said than done, especially without European football and other clubs currently looking more attractive in terms of wages and / or European football on offer.

Forget trying to be clever in the market, we need to cherry pick players from teams like Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford, West Ham, Forest… I know it’s not going to be as straightforward especially with some of the teams mentioned.

I just hope the board understands that they have had their pants pulled down for far too long.

Why be so negative? We have no idea what the future holds....

I don't disagree with the bulk of this, but I would caution that when we have everyone fit, we do actually have an extremely strong core - we need a new first choice keeper (I'd go for Trafford this summer), a top class left winger and greater quality in depth across the centre backs.

With a properly coached team (Ange didn't do it right, Frank was just pathetic the more you look back on it) we become better than the sum of our parts - if Romero, VDV and co are retained, and we add some experience as was discussed with Robertson and Senisi, and remove the likes of Vicario and Dragusin, we will very quickly get to a top half/top 8 scenario. Getting better from there is where the investment and the growth of our youngsters will come in. RDZ ball with Mikey Moore, Gray, Bergvall and Vuskovic being blooded properly into his system is going to be some watch.

This is all assuming we first retain our league status. Which after the last three games looks far more likely.

Best performance of the season, we score two goals without (arguably) any of our creative players... We're not out of the woods yet - not by a long shot - but at least everything is in our hands. Congratulations to De Zerbi if he pulls this off, but I think the players who were on the pitch yesterday also deserve a lot of credit.

It will mean nothing if we can't beat Leeds next week, but the belief is there now.

Palhinha may not be a perfect midfielder and lack the quality we see in others but in most of the games I've seen him play he is trying to hold the team together with his effort and experience. I think we've missed that in games and he has set better leadership qualities than we have seen from our captains. At Fulham I always thought he's a walking red card but he's been very controlled here, sort of player I wouldn't want to play against but like him in my team.

That will help for sure, but Xavi is going to take till Xmas to get back up to speed, Maddison can't be trusted to play every week and we don't know if Kulu is ever coming back at this point.

The whole front line needs work on it, I agree we need a new striker, but Tel/Odobert need upgrading on, KRM won't be here and Johnson hasn't been replaced

There is nowhere enough goals in it

Midfield we will need at least 2 in, Biss is off, Pals loan is up and Sarr needs upgrading on

Romero is seemingly off, Dragon needs moving on as well, so we need 2 CBs ( Vuskovic could be one) There are question marks over Udogie staying as well.

Davies will be off

We also need a new first choice keeper.

We need a new CF to play the RDZ way
I think the links with the giant front Saudi Sportswashing Machine make sense and they do like Solanke
We will have Lankshear back but it’s a lot of pressure on him
