Mauricio Pochettino

If we go down I would not be at all surprised to see RDZ go and Poch arrive.

I think Poch would be massively up for creating the story of our return to the PL at the first time and then powering up the table the next year.
I could see it, but I genuinely believe DeZerbi will be with us next season - I think like some of the players he knows unlikely to get a bigger job in terms of status so would give it at least one season in the Championship. If we don't go straight back up then that's a different matter for manager and players alike....

The revisionism is sad re: Poch. We will not see his like again in my lifetime.

Just watched the Stick To Football and this post from 6 years ago remains the truth.
He is very respectful, however he clears up a couple of things that I remember being told were 'bolllox' when I raised them both at the time and more recently.

What a rare, rare manager indeed.

I've just finished watching it, wished the whole episode was on his time at Spurs :D

What are the things he cleared up for you?

On Spurs specifically here is what he gets into.

Club over performed with the players they had. But once they began challenging the expectations from outside the club changed and that eventually got inside the club as well.

The team had money to spend during the 18 months no transfers but not enough to bring in players that would take the club to the next level.

Harry Kane had talent but was not a good professional when they arrived. Diet is suggested as an issue.

He wanted to sign Wijnuldum & Mane in 2016. We signed Sissoko & NKodou instead.

I still need to watch the whole thing but is he suggesting some issue with the owners influencing things more than they should? Eg his comments about people outside the club convincing people inside the club?

Sacking him was the beginning of the completely dumb cycle of moves we’ve made since. Proof positive that they didn’t know why we were successful with him, if they could pin the blame his way with slide of results in 2019, rather than what was obviously broader context.

‘Time will tell if it’s the right decision’ Levy said.
